Pandamonium - LHC WRT

Post by macinblack »

The LHC proved to be an eclectic bunch, united by a love of the outdoors, existential pondering and whispering sweet poems in your bikepacking companion's ears as they sleep under the stars...

Here is one aspect of our story:

As all adventures tend to do, with full cheer.

Let the pondering begin.

Yes, I know it looks flat but will we get nine tarps on it?

Happens to us all.

Gimme shelter.

Reg interrogates Steve on the whereabouts of the pink piggy draught excluder. Steve just smiles.

A further montage of the LHC imagining a BB200 experience. Pickers just smiles.

In true WRT style their was even hike-a-bike. It was so steep all the pics went B&W just to show how gritty it was

Some lovely pix there thanks chaps. Loving that one of the edge of the world at Aber, and the one of Steve ploughing up the north face of the Eiger/Rheidol.

OOhhhh I've come over all emotional and having to brush a little tear from my eye (**) - what a great bunch you lot were. I like going solo, but it's also fantastic to be in great little team sharing experiences/problems/vertical-deathmarches/beers/bollockspeak/panda-care.

Thanks to Malc for being Official LHC Photographer, and to other equally brill photosmiths; just a couple from me below, including this first one which is a Caption Contest:

Who's is the tarp just in front of Steve? That's my usual spot for having a slash whenever I call in at the George Borrows and pop outside for a fag :-bd

Funnily(?) enough it's mine Stu. It did seem a bit moister than its surroundings I must admit. That spot should be well fertilised by now then 'cos I had a quick out-the-side-of-the-sleeping-bag James Riddle in the middle of the night to add to yours.....

Cheers for a great weekend everyone, thoroughly enjoyed myself. Was pretty fatigued/delirious from beer and the effort some of the time but had a great time, vaguely exciting bit of the country, looking fwd to exploring it more

I'm keen to get back in June/July for another 3/4 days of riding, anyone interested? Maybe an old BB200 route if anyone has one. Or if there's any other rides already organised I could join let me know.

With a lot less weight next time :)
