I borrowed one to use at relentless this weekend. They are crazy bright!
Had a pair of Montane Terras turn up, I need a long leg and a medium waist. Why on earth do they insist of making the 'long' leg vary with waist size?? Are fatter people taller and vice versa?! So the long leg isn't long enough, grrrr
I've lost weight some my XLs are too big, good for dog biking though.
Some nice wheels manufacturing drifts. Got tired of bodging some bearings in with sockets/old bearings. Happily, they fit my old cheap bearing press too
A week ago my rear rim exploded riding along the rufty-tufty Thames cycle path. Mercian have just rebuilt it for me around the CK hub. Not many requests for 26 inch non disc wheels these days I expect.
Also got one of these Upso bags from Carradice which I can put under the saddle or on the handlebars if I need just a little extra stuff:
And this time it wasn't the postie, but the LBS man's been sorting out mah Lois...32T Gamut on the front...fresh 11-36 XT on the back and a not-so-stretched 1051 hookin' 'em up. Ready to get f*cked over by the winter grit.
That's me sorted for the next little while. Back to the ramen dinners and your regularly programmed schedule.
Bit of a haul today! Second hand highball frame for singlespeed duties this winter, singlespeed dropouts for same, some of those boost sids that someone put up a psa for and a wtb kom rim because they're cheap at the moment!
Tomorrow is bike build day, first run planned for monday's night ride. Quite excited!
WTB scaper 29+ rims from CRC - they are already a pretty good price at £87.50 but they are also in their clearance list (WTF?) so if you add the code CLEAR2016 at the checkout you get £10 off. If you want a pair, buy them separately and you get £10 off per rim. Just need to buy the rest of the bike now
That said, I'm still trying to work out what set of bushings/joints/control arms et al. on the complicated BMW suspension setup needs replacing to sort it out and handle more like it should when "making progress"
I'm fairly sure the subframe bushings are part of the equation. They arrived the other day:
I'm also mixing some automatic transmission fluid with the manual transmission fluid to make the gear changes a bit less notchy. The er gearbox and diff oil were a bit past their best when I drained it out (took fricking ages to get the diff oil out as there's only a fill plug )
Need to wait for a nice weekend of weather before I drop the subframe though
