Re: Kit lust.
OT but if a Webber Yellowstone Octave Mandolin with 20" scale and finished in amber appeared for sale I would give it some very serious thought.

Re: New BB jerseys - pre-order one now.
Looking for a new long sleeved jersey too. 'Tis black. Wear it over a black base/fleece like I do and nobody'll ever know  . I have to stay out of the sun so the idea of wearing a fleece base layer does not quite work for me. #:-S I do have some Merino arm warmers though. :-bd Or I could cut ...

Just looking to see what might be available for a winter project. I want to run carbon forks not shoc...

Re: Todays ride
Back to the new normal. Todays ride started in blistering heat. I didn't notice it clouding over until I reached the top of the Fire Beacon Hill where I paused for breath and a drink. It was suddenly cooler. On through the Beech wood where it was like autumn with leaves constantly falling. I noticed...

Re: Bikepacking awards, your best bit of kit, ever!
Shout out for the humble Snood/Neck warmer. Not talking about the three-foot-long Merino buff things but a cheap dhb one I bought in sale at Halfords years ago. It’s about eight inches high slightly fleece lining and got a pull cord for adjustment. I wear it all year. It keeps the sun off my neck in...

Re: selling all and getting a cheating bike.
Perhaps a rule modification would allow e-bike riders a battery change at pre arranged spot via a third party? The reason that wouldn't work is because then everyone would get an e-bike. Aha what you would need is a handicap system that adds time to an e-bike against conventional bike or just anothe...

Re: New hardtail MTB
If I am reading the HT 550 results correctly it was 'won' by a Frenchman riding a FS Chinese carbon framed bike.
They appear to do hard tail versions and a reasonably priced seat post in the correct size for me.
Look on the Ali-Express website as the European one seems to have sold out of most things.

Choice - yep, reckon we have choice, which pretty much equates to control. Free will on the other hand … I’m increasingly of the opinion it’s an illusion. From the old hippies handbook - You are totally free to choose but not free not to choose. I see this is now amended to - You are free to choose...

Keep an eye on https://forum.cyclinguk.org/search.php? ... %5B0%5D=32
Not looked to see if it is still for sale but there appears to be an unused rack for sale for £20.
Might be made of putty but who knows?

As an aside have we done 'usb heated gloves'? Cant remember where I ran across these and never heard of them before so don't know the details other than you plug them in before use. I don't know if you need to ride with a power bank on each arm? https://bikerumor.com/review-sealskinz-waterproof-heat...

Re: OT Heat Pumps and Solar
It was several years ago so prices will be somewhat changed since then.
I think it was £14k for over speccd PV ASHP and Tesla battery plus installation.
Scaffolding was extra but last time I had the house scaffolded 2016 it was £1500.
Let me know how you get on.

Bike shortage?
From todays financial round up: The Times: Tandem, the Birmingham-based Aim minnow behind grand old names of British cycling such as Dawes and Falcon, has warned that shops are sitting on unsold bikes and that it is struggling to source cycles from abroad. Three takeaways from this 1. sale time is c...
