Re: Budget bikepacking bike required!

They are basically unmarked except for where the brakes and shifters went

OS fitting so should be fine for any new bike and most bikes that are say 5 years old or newer - its pretty hard to find anything with the old standard size stem

Either pick a route and then the best bike for that route or pick the bike and pick a route to suit the bike.

Re: Trespassers will be persecuted

as my post is above yours it really not necessary to quote it all to reply From what i can tell the change is from trespass may be an offence to is an offence. It would have been better to use other words in my statement- to my knowledge a bike packer has never been done currently so it is criminali...

Re: Trespassers will be persecuted

The law, if in acted, may just be for motorised vehicle's. This also maybe used against the off roaders who destroy bridle paths etc. Or it may just used against everyone and target us for the damage we do to footpaths and on private land when we camp. I am not sure why you think they wont use a br...

Re: Trespassers will be persecuted

most of us here would prefer Scottish type access rules and it is worrying that simply riding a bike or camping somewhere can lead to a criminal conviction. perhaps we can get them to specify with motorised vehicles or caravans or some such seeing as they wish to target the travelling community As n...

Re: Cup and cone bearings

i tend to do this sort of service when the clocks move as it acts a as reminder

Bearings, fork oil etc a those annoying jobs that must be done that you forget because nothing is broken- then again there are 10 bikes in the house, not all mine, so I need some incentive to lose a weekend to this

Re: Yet another damn fire

that bit of fluff made me almost as angry as the boss

How do you get caught by the landowner so often you know that nine times out of ten you can pay them?

Sounds like he just picks bad spots to me - or perhaps all the fires alert the owners to his illegal activity

Re: Jersey / gilet orders open

everyone should own a gillet - though i prefer tops with zip off arms as they are more adaptable

as noted there are times when the core is cold or wind chill is a factor but a coat would be too much. Personally i tend to use mine in spring and autumn and descents when MTB on proper Mountains

what they said I doubt you will notice any real difference but you may need to give it a gentle * tap with a hammer to persuade it to move after all this time * you will and it may not be gentle, I tend to knock the crank arm, on the bolt, to get it to move sideways before trying to get it to move e...

Re: Ordnance survey app

alpine quest - about £7 iirc- will allow you to use ,data and wifi free, the old style memory map OS maps

The free version allows you to load one map area but not add routes.
