Re: Bloody saddles again - really, really sorry.
I'm a bit of a lump (+92kg) but i've had no problems with my 27.2 Hi-Flex & that includes riding with fully loaded seat & back packs (180mm of post showing). Also got a 31.6mm one on my SS which i've not put as many miles on, but doesn't seem quite as 'flexy' as the 27.2. Had the 27.2 a coup...

Room for a small one with either Chew or Flatfishy?
Will need to tag along with someone, otherwise could be out there for a week!
(All dependent on my late entry being accepted )

Re: Bloody saddles again - really, really sorry.
Noticed from your pics (nice saddle btw) that you're using a Thomson seat post. Although a quality post they are very stiff, with not much(if any) give in them. I had one on my hard tail & found it unbearable over long distances, even after trying out different saddles. After a bit of research i...

Re: Windstopper jacket recommendations
If it's just the zip on your current jacket thats not connecting the two sides well enough, it could quite well be saved. Have a tinker with the zip so that it pushes the edges together better. Had a couple of tops where the zip wouldn't connect the sides together, or after being zipped up, it would...

Re: Short notice Bothy trip..
No set plan but probably in the Derwent valley which is isn't far from Edale. For Mosedale I believe both sides are the same. I've only been up there in the dry. There's no destinct path to get there so its a bit of a trek and it would be the same conditions from each side. Thanks for the info, wil...

Re: Short notice Bothy trip..
Wouldnt recommend Mosedale at the moment unless you're taking waders and a snorkel  Its very boggy up there and its not really been that dry recently..... There is a plan to be out in the Peak on friday, so let me know if you may be interested? Thanks Chew, do you know roughly where about in...

Short notice Bothy trip..
To try & keep up with the bivi/bothy a month challenge, there's only 4 more nights left- does friday night count as the following day is the 1st?? Anyway, thinking of Mosedale Cottage in the north east Lakes at the moment, but could possibly be swayed to somewhere in Wales. Weathers looking bett...

Re: instant porridge oats with milk in sachets ?
Grasshopper Foods make porridge and soups in pop up pots that take up much less space, and the porridge does contain milk powder (and fruit options). Quite a clever idea but not the cheapest. They also don't feel like huge portions, even tho I think they contain the same amount as Oats So Simple sa...

Re: coffee on the go
I've found some of the single serving sachets to be ok, might be worth trying a couple.
Would never normally touch Starbucks, but their single serving sachet thingys are good, expensive though.
I actually do some work at the place that makes these, but they're not available in the staff shop

Re: Anyone else not carry a phone?
Being self employed & essentially 'on call' all of the time, i have to carry my phone pretty much all of the time. I know many will frown on this, but it's my livelihood & not being available could mean losing a customer. That said, it only normally happens once or twice a year & rarely ...
