Re: Indian Pacific Wheel Race
This looks like a done deal now. Clearly Mike was not right on the bike early on. He seemed to be struggling mentally too. Once Kristof had a lead he could gauge his pace/rest cycle off that gap. Shame really as I think we have seen the best of Kristof and not the best of Mike. An incredible effort...

Re: Pen Y Fan
Remind me. Why can't you ride it? I didn't say you can't  I said it's technically not permitted; on account of the archaic access laws that define where you can and cannot legally ride a bicycle on private land in England and Wales. I assumed that as it was a national park, private land rules...

Re: Frozen Shoulder, any advice?
If you can lift it yourself with your other hand that is not a frozen shoulder. If you can lift it with the other hand, relatively pain free, that's even better. But you still need diagnosis, from someone who knows what they 're doing.

Re: Frozen Shoulder, any advice?
I pretty sure i have developed a frozen shoulder. A search of the NHS website describes my problem perfectly so will hopefully get an appointment with the doctor tomorrow. What worries me though is it could take between 12 and 24 months to clear up. Anyone suffered with this condition? Any insights...

Re: Golf....help please
Most golfers won't care, or even notice. As long as you are not actually on the fairways or greens or damaging trees etc, I am just saying, I know you wouldn't. First tee usually starts at 6.30am. By the looks of the map it's the far side of the course so it will take them at least an hour to get to...

I don't think 4k for a holiday is rediculous. I recon to do the tour divide or trans am you would be dropping 5 -6k all in including a few days before and after. And that's not before you buy a load of new equipment, bike etc, because you would be pretty picky about what you brought.

Re: Wheels 700c v 29er
I had a cycle to work voucher and spent it on a planetx xls. I am delighted with everything but the wheels. The gipiemme-roccia-equipe The combined weight is advertised at 2.4kg, they feel heavier. The rim seems ok but the hub looks poorly made. I think the hub is powder coated, this could be to hid...

I have a set of these. Came with a bike. 75 quid would be better off spent second hand on something else.Bearbonesnorm wrote:http://www.on-one.co.uk/i/q/WPGIROEQ/gi ... c-wheelset
You could buy a pair here for £75.

Wolf tooth have a road link, but it has limitations which are explained by them better than I could. But a set up I am in the process of getting is 36/46 front on a cyclocross crank. 11/40 rear. And the front combination is what limits you at the back apparently. I am sure some on here can explain b...

What about a toro? Usually pick a toro up cheaper than a race for whatever reason.

Rab storm. Bug net. Open or closed hood. Not the most breathable but fine as a just in case bag.

Hi Ray, it heads over Bynack Mhor. Strathnethy is all kinds of unpleasant! Head along toward the Ryvoan pass and take the right turn signposted to Braemar, simples. I am a bit confused Gari. You turn right at the signpost, but the sign is pointing left to braemar. Or you have just come along the pa...

Re: Best padded short for ITTs
While I agree that you need to become accustomed to longer rides for pressure sores, keeping your bits and bobs dry does help with chaffing. I too prefer the Endura pads with the gel inserts. I was plagued by sores for a while and don't have the same issues now. Creams help as well for chaffing. I r...

I had xfusion forks that were allright. But impossible to get serviced by an independant suspenion place. I sent them to the distributor who then lost them. I now use marzocchi lcr 320. I have the carbon version. But the standard ones are good as well. As I was loaned a set when xfusion were taking ...

Re: Wide 29" tyre - what do you reckon?
Got some 2.4 xkings as recommended by you in a previous post. And I love them. But use a griper advanced 2.25 on my commute bike. At 2.25 they are better in the mud, by my eye a bigger volume for whatever reason and you can usually pick them up cheap. Worth a look.
Cheers.

Vango venom bags are worth a look. Not the lightest, or best made or the warmest per gram. But cheep, light enough adequately made. Choose your weight of down accordingly for warmth. They have decent synthetic bags as well.

I have a lezyne power drive xl on the lid. But it's one of the older versions. And it's pretty good some reviews say it's more robust than the newer versions. However even in overdrive 475 lumens mode it gets completely drowned out by my toro on a medium setting. But pretty much anything other than ...

Power links.
Just replaced my chain. Ended up taking a pin out just to get the old one off. Couldn't budge the power link, it was caked in grime. Put a new Kmc on with the power link that came with it, and had a go, just for fun to 'unclip' it. Couldn't do it by hand. But I could with the chain pliers thing. Is ...
