http://www.klymit.com/index.php/products/sleeping-pads/ineriaxframe.html in order to stop my ongoing highjacking of another thread i thought i'd post this in it's very own thread. anyone had any experience of these??? they look mental and like they're either the best thing since sliced bread or a s...

Re: A Bloke in a Shed Productions present ...
WOW! i'm not only seriously impressed by the design but also genuinely moved by your willingness to spend your time and effort to help a fella out! (too much emotion for an internet biking forum???) can't wait to get it out into the hills and try the puppy out! will obviously post a gear-review once...

Re: Guidance on average overnight temperatures
didnothingfatal/Stormflex,
thanks - it's looking like a good option.
has anyone seen/used these:
http://kookabay.com/luxlite.html
not so good on the insulation front but possibly good for comfort???

Re: Guidance on average overnight temperatures
i just invested in a Vango Venom 300 which i found online (i can post the link if interested) for £69 (rrp £117). here's a link to the spec: http://www.vango.co.uk/sleeping-bags/venom-300.html i used it for the first time last night at roughly 2 degrees (with an Alpkit Hunka XL Bivi bag and on a che...

Re: kit list - advice wanted!
Did you survive? oh yeah, it was plenty warm enough but i think i'll be investing in a better mat as my piece of crap cheap foam mat may well be cheap and light (and it did keep the heat in) but it did nothing for my aching limbs. Have you a plan to recharge the batteries on your GPS? the plan is t...

Re: kit list - advice wanted!
Anthony, I forgot to add my email address for you to send your C2C kit-list but it's listed in one of the above responses and so if you find a minute to get that to me then it'd be really helpful. All, Tonight (admittedly after fat dinner and a session on the turbo-trainer) i'll be spending the nigh...

Re: Carbon for a bikepacking bike?
i've had 3 on-one's and know loads of mates who use/used them and i wouldn't personally suggest getting one of their carbon frames. i had a mate buy one and return it due to the build quality being so bad that the chainrings rubbed on the frame from new as there simply wasn't enough room for everyth...

Re: kit list - advice wanted!
gairym email me your address and I'll send you a stove over really....? that'd be vaguely exciting but you should let me give you some money for it. if not (if you've got one laying around that you're happy to give away) then at least let me cover the postage? also.....i can't seem to find an email...

Re: kit list - advice wanted!
Anthony, Thanks for that buddy - sure, it all sounds like simple common sense but it's that kind of stuff that you really only learn by making those mistakes and so it's helpful to know in advance what mistakes of would likely have made so i can avoid making them! I'll be starting 'practice' trips a...

Re: kit list - advice wanted!
Personally I would recommend the Caldera Cone set-up that is for sale in the classifieds. Super reliable, nice and lightweight and very simple to use. thanks - i'll take a look. I'd be very suprised if the solid fuel actually works out any lighter than meths. hmmm.....maybe i do need to have anothe...

is the interior sloping up away from the entrance or down?
as long as it's not going to fill with water if it rains i'd give it a go.
