Re: Wtd: low stack height mtb stem
You can also gain a few mm using ultra low stack bearing top covers, might have one in the spares bin from the silly xc racing days,
Have also got a green ragley stem that relatively low stack of 36mm if that helps?

Re: Not a real cyclist…
The whole premise of ‘done x, y , z’ really grates on me. Regularly hear it in the office “yeah we done snowdonia last week, ticked it off like”. - a drive to llanberis, hiked up and down the walkers path and that’s the entire snowdonia region , ticked off! Aah well at least the rest of the region i...

Have used terreno dry, cinturato M and Pathfinder pros, the latter are bang on for your needs, warp speed on the road, better off road in the summer months than they have any right to be, 38mm though

Re: Sonder wheelsets anyone have experience?
I’ve got a pair of the love mud branded wheels sonder used to sell (27.5 normal mtb width) which I think predate their uk made shenanigans in a sonder evol . They are cheap wheels and rebranded stans hubs in the ones I’ve had but to their credit they’ve been fine. Not had any of their newer ones.

Got a love mud rumpus (45mm internal) wheelset sat doing nothing. Think I paid £60 for them on here, the. Purchased a new free hub for them direct from alpkit for £30 which hasn’t been used.
15x110 12x148 boost spacing
Would sell for what they owe plus postage

Mine were both the original rx4 versions rather than plus. Plus has bigger pistons but I was so off put by the issues I’ve given them a wide berth.

Re: Any experienced hope rx4 users?
Rx4s were a royal main the arse for me, had two sets on two different bikes and had the same issues with both. The piston bores are tiny and were forever sticking, fully stripped down multiple times and relubed using the hunter silicon stuff they recommend only to end up back sticking again in no ti...

Is boost a must have?
Might not be what you’re after
Got an ally version of the exotic fork in uber-duber boost (due out in 2028 hehe) also known as 135x15mm FDS.
Have a hope hub to suit this as well

Re: Gore-tex Running Shoe Recommendations
Have the juniper trails been updated to a vibram sole? Reviews of nikes own efforts at trail grip in the wet has always put me off trying their trail shoes despite loving their road going zoom x based shoes a lot. However i see that theyve partnered with Vibram for some of their new models so maybe ...

Re: Gore-tex Running Shoe Recommendations
Gore shoes for running seems a bit pointless as all they do is trap the water that comes in the ankle inside.
Gave up with gore trail shoes and just use warm socks and breathable trail shoes - I’m not running 50-100k ultras though just up to half marathon distances

Don’t ride it now you’ve fitted the fork correctly!
It will be so much fun you won’t want to part with it!
Not sure I’ll ever part with my fat bike, seldom gets ridden these days but every time I ride it, it brings a smile to my face and I think I really should ride it more than I do
