I think so. Locally, there's a number of very good tracks that are clearly marked on the 1:25k but with absolutely no mention on 1:50k.
I had to read that to myself a few times. How odd!

Re: Another what tyre thread ... sorry

I loved my nanos, at least till I ripped a sidewall. Really grippy and fast. Really easy to set up tubeless as well. Reminds me, I really should sew it back together.

Re: Entries open on the... some time in November.

Llanbrynmair appears to be annoying right on the edge of several different OS maps! Guess I will be asking santa for a new map library. Don't want to get the GRs and not be able to plot them all! Are the 1:25000 scales the best for this kind of thing?

Is it a numbers limited, better sign up at midnight or you miss your spot type of event or is it more relaxed than that?

Re: Entries open on the... some time in November.

Noticed last night it had changed. Have been counting down the days. Thought that my second ever bikepacking event should be the polar opposite of my first in June. From bright sunshine to.... well... who knows what? Nevermind... everyone loves being cold and wet right?

Hi Ian,

Is that Mountain Hardware jacket still available? Can't see the pictures in Rich's post any more - what is the colour? Any chance of a photo?

Cheers.

Worst case scenario you're cold, you won't die and it'll be a good test of kit
That's kind of how I was thinking about it. Just wanted to reassure myself I wasn't going to end up needing mountain rescue.

Re: Sleeping bag advice

I've started mulling over doing the Winter Event. Have just checked out my bags rating and it has Comfort Temp of 3, Comfort Limit of -2 and a Good Nights Sleep (whatever that is) temp of -5°C. Any idea how this would translate into suitability for the winter event? A bit on the cold side I would gu...

Simultaneously my first and most recent - the trans cambrian about 3 weeks ago. Wasn't without its share of moments (mostly bike related) but was a fine introduction to the midge infested world of cycling then sleeping in a bag in a field.

Sure they're not going to work their way out sideways? Can't see if you have physically attached them somehow or if they are just jammed between the bar and the harness.

I just used the love mud Bombers with a 13l alpkit airlock bag (single ended). Was plenty of room. The way the shifters mount on the flared drop mean you have plenty of room.

Let me know if you decide to sell a single nano. Sliced the wall of a pretty much brand new one on the TCW last weekend. Would also have to wait till beginning of August before I could have it off you.

Re: Uk Divide Route?

Cycled from Cannock into brum last week. Maybe 1 mile at most on road. Cannock to brown hills then canal all the way to the city. Pretty sure there is canal all the way out the other side to Clent or the licky hills. Not the most exciting section of a UK divide but wouldn't have thought there would ...

Excellent write up. Like some of the above, it gave me a much later night than I had planned. How I got any work done after only 7 or 8 hours conformable sleep I will never know... Has kind of reinforced my view though that although I like the thought of riding the route, the thought of racing it is...

Anyone used the Alpamayo version? Looks reasonably priced but am wondering if it's a little small?

Or maybe one of the new alpkit lodo bags? Guess no-one has seen one of those in the flesh yet?
