At least you've not told anyone you'll be stealing water. HRH will never know. Think she's more of a STW kind of girl

Re: Yet again - Leave No Trace.
Interesting conversation but leave no trace is bigger than just do you/don't you have a fire. How many folks on here are packing a trowel to properly bury their sh1t at bivi sites. I love free camping in Scotland but a lot of places are getting to be open sewers. Go to those places with evidence of ...

Got it. I see you can get something to charge the battery from the wall as well.
Is that something you do?
What's a tamyia connector?

Re: Tell me about Forumslader
Thanks for the info.
I'm quite intrigued by the idea.
Do the batteries just act as a cache to smooth out the supply of power to devices being charged or are they more like a power bank?

I have the bit Sean. As I thought it has a wee bit of surface rust but that doesn't really matter.
All things being equal I need to do some posting on Monday so I'll ping it to you then.

Yeah their customer service is great.
I had a problem with a brand new light which they sorted very quickly and also gave me £20 of accessories as an apology.

Pretty sure I have a slightly rusty one on a defunct multi tool.
I'll check.
If you put a couple of quid in the box of any mountain rescue team or air ambulance I'll post it to you.
PM me to make sure.

BB200 entry
I promised the kids to take them wild camping this weekend but the Bb200 entries open on Sunday morning.
Do I need to be ready to enter at 9am Sunday or will it wait until later in the day?

Re: SON dynamo hub help
As above: get the SON 28 as it has higher output. Schmidt recommends this hub for charging purposes. They are amazing btw.
I have a 12 year old SON 28 that has crossed 2 continents, been submerged in countless river crossings and has had 3 rims.

Re: Child trailer friendly routes
Roads are a problem but not as much as the various gates and anti moped fixtures on the NCN routes. Used to go away with my two in a double Chariot that had a roof rack thing for gear. Was a terrible trauma lifting the bloody thing time and again over obstacles. Quiet lanes are often the best bet as...

Re: Coast to Coast - Tim Woodcock version
I've also done the route. Three long days. I'm by no means the fasted or fittest but am fairly tenacious. The Lakes section has some pretty hardcore passes. Blacksail Pass from Ennerdale to Wasdale for example is not to be underestimated. There is one particularly steep rocky step that is not easy t...

Re: Dynamo hub charge controller recommendation please
Igaro D1. Mine is an older version and I can't fault it. It connects up. Charges and gives me no problems. It also switches between a road oriented bike and my Krampus regularly and relatively easily. The newer Igaro has even better functionality. The company is very good to deal with too. They took...

Used in water you can hardly taste it. Just very mildly salty but not in a bad way.
You can carry enough for a weekend bikepacking in a 30g bottle and it contains no chemicals.

FYI Tubolito repair kit
Thought people may like to know what a Tubolito Flix Kit repair kit consists of.
It's simply a few pieces of (badly hand) cut McNett Gear Aid tape and some alcohol wipes. 5 pieces each.
For the price of the official kit you could make half a dozen similar kits with bits from eBay.
