Re: Repairs needed
All sorted now. I've managed to do up the problem zip and took off the pull tag so I can't use it. I can access it from the other side as that zip is fine but iv had to cut the middle divider so it's now one big bag  That is so clever :-bd  ... Now I know how to repair mine when/if (hopef...

Re: Anyone using Garmin Edge 1030 for bikepacking?
I sold up my 520, 1000 and another retro Garmin after i found my Wahoo Bolt being so much more lovely. Fraction of the cost and double the batt life and less faff in learning how to use everything. I've not used for bikepacking as such but regularly for back to back cross-district rides. Not used it...

Re: Isn't 'Gravel' the same thing people used to moan about?
I totally agree with Stu... What a waste of 'standards'... The bike industry should have just brought out another bottom bracket and sold it to us on the basis of how stiff it is and how much tenth of a seconds you can save. Roadies (I'm kind of a roadie but with my mtb pants means I always get snob...

Standard patches (I used them leeches and some others aswell probably) work but you shouldnt need it. Now that youve sussed why thw sealant only works from the inside.... we cann tell you also. The fastwr you go out and ride the wheels, the more likely that it'll fill and seal properly any little no...

Haha... yup. Raodie wheels are crap wheels. Especially the top end ones that come with that nasty stuff called carbon!!. I had some 2k FSA wheels (bought used and hand built). Tubulars they were. They were handmade in Italy and had a disclaimer on the side stating that you might need to retrue them ...

Re: Advice please: First time tubeless
After watching onw of the shakes videos (as mentioned regards Stans-shake above) so you have an idea of how you need to achieve the seals. Jusy shake it a little and leave on a side with the hole tipped on its side (ie. The hole being faced towards the ground) over your bucket with soapy water etc.....

Re: Using sram rotors with Shimano brakes.
I once had some small (ish) centre lock (shimano) rotors foul on some avid juicy calipers. But then I seem to remember I got round the same problem at a later date by filing a small bit of the caliper or something away to ensure it didnt catch. I doubt the avid rotors would catch on xt calipers. Esp...

Not bikepacking as such but trailquesting and all sorts of other mtb shenanigans with and without the tent. Spd shimanos. V12s and V8s Currently am looking at getting the Nukeproof plasticky ones for the new Sonder. Only cos they come with good reviews and are cheaper or same as V8s... Then once I h...

What an amazing thread.. I often think along the lines of the theme of this. Coming at it from another angle having a mix of BB7s and Slx/Xt hydraulics in the garage I don't find the difference to be that great. Certainly not night/day or only 20% of the power! The adjustments to cable brakes involve just using a torx key or twiddling a barrel, easily less faff than b...

I could be wrong. But for the hydraulics, dont forgrt that you are paying for the hydraulic integrated shifter (unlike mtb where the shifter is seperate). Personally from experience of loving my bb7s before going to hydraulics (avid juicy 3s and 7s back in the day) and then using mechanicals again b...
