Re: The Bear Bones winter events merch
I dropped my cap outside The Sportsman pub in Hayfield a few weeks ago. Someone found it, assumed it belonged to alexinthepeaks, and he assumed it belonged to me, which it did.
Will be genuinely chuffed to get it back.

Re: Thank you
Thanks Stu and Dee. Another fantastic event. :-bd Back in 2015 when I got back to Llanbryn after my first attempt at BB200 I distinctly remember saying to Stu "what a lovely bunch of people!" about everyone I'd seen on the route (riding past me in the opposite direction). The same very muc...

Re: BB200
Genuinely feels like ages since the Oct BB200. Milder weather, longer days, drier trails. Looking back it was a reasonably nice ride on the whole. I was feeling it towards the end, had to push a couple of the last steep tarmac bits, but I enjoyed pretty much all of the ride. I was fairly late settin...

Just looking at the ones in the High Peak and I suspect anyone's who's ridden round there for a year or three will have visited most of them by bike...Bearbonesnorm wrote: ↑Fri Oct 29, 2021 11:20 am I assume the majority of these are only accessible by footpath?

Ring a Trek store and ask them to look on their system if you're stuck for XR2. At the very least they can order you some in.

That's a tricky one tbh. I never answer my phone to unknown numbers. Surely they must have left a message or sent a text?

Had seven pints of Guinness at the Penrhos Arms on Friday night and my guts were in a right state on Saturday.
Firmed up since then though.

Re: BB200 route.
Hi all! I just wanted to leave my small thank to everyone and, in particular, to that guy I met very briefly around 98K in. He said something he really made me crack on the thing, while I was in a low. I’m sure he said his name, but I can remember only he had a jersey with the BB200 logo on it. You...

Re: Bikepacking murder
Wonder if there's a gap in the market for a bikepacking murder mystery weekend? Clues could be strung up in pub beer gardens, left in the reduced items fridge in Spar, shouted by an angry farmer etc.

Re: Girona / Costa Brava route
Google maps is often your friend for this sort of thing - you can see a chunk of that on Streetview/Satellite view. Goes from tarmac to a gravelly double-track and back t tarmac on the north coast by the looks of it.
Route looks interesting.

Honestly. What am I missing? Who are the seminal writers these days? What has been written in the past 20 years that will usurp Catcher In The Rye or Lord Of The Flies in the GCSE and A-Levels. All the Light We Cannot See is a real high point of modern literature for me. Wonderful book. Won the Pul...

Related, does anyone have a good option for Garmin maps? I'm sure I used BBBike last time but when I put them on my Garmin they don't seem to be loading. Maybe I'm selecting the wrong type? I've got them off here for years Rich and never had a problem. http://garmin.openstreetmap.nl/ looks like you...

Sean and I were decked out in BB jerseys riding through some trees somewhere north of Stroud when we squeezed past a family coming the other way, at which point the lady said to the man "he's wearing your shirt!".
