Re: Today's Run

Ace! That's a chunk of time dropped. Orienteering yesterday, made some mistakes but nothing epic, came second. Thankfully snow didn't have too much of an impact on the race. Today, pants. Poor route choice, poor weather, legs not engaging. Either way, nice week with about 8 hours of running. Happy e...

Re: Today's Walk.

ALL the sledding with daughter today. Great conditions, probably about 5km of wandering around various slopes. Was going to bring skis with me but it was far too powdery for the little skinny skis.

Mega melt, followed by sub zero all night...should make orienteering tomorrow fun!

Northern orienteering championships today at Burbage Moor (And that boulderfield: map here at 1:2000 https://www.southyorkshireorienteers.org.uk/event/2023-02-26-burbage-moor/other_v1.pdf ) Had a good day, much better than last time I race here in 2020. Brutally cold today on the tops, but once we g...

Much in the way that cycling outside is better than Zwift.

Re: Today's Run

Nice! Well done on that :) I had a few easy runs up to work from the train station (2km and 200m up) and then some lovely longer runs home in sunlight this week. Needed to rest after last week, probably did a bit too much. Combined with back to school I felt rubbish most of the week. Friday off, cli...

Original FF29 was a cracking bike. One of the better bikes I've owned along with the original ScandAl - shame I broke that one.

Re: Today's Run

New Chew long O race today. Didn't feel right when I woke up, didn't feel much better during the 4.5 hours on the hills! Still, treated it as a good long day out, and got a nice 24km under my belt across some horrendous ground.

I have 11s and 12s. They are a little tighter on the midfoot but feel the same forefoot. Not as plush, but the lower stack height feels better on the terrain we have round here.

Re: Speedgoats

It's what your foot fits.

Speedgoats have always felt clunky to me. Ive owned Hokas in the past - SGs don't work for me.

Currently on my third pair of Peregrines for traily duties. Had very unhappy milages from Torrents/T2s in the past. SO I've not gone back to Hoka in a while.

At least 15 years since I've been in the Foundry. I have no idea if it's changed. I'd sort of assumed it had gone the way of most coffee shops...sorry climbing walls these days ;)

Local wall in Huddersfield at least isn't too much into the boutique side of climbing, just a decent training wall.

Re: Today's Run

Three very fast paced (for me) runs in the last two days. Sort of had a fire lit under my butt when I found out I've got an entry for CCC in September.

Mildly terrified, but actually really chuffed. I've wanted to do this race for quite a few years.
