Re: Dedicated bikepacking bike... 1x or not?

I have only one comment on this from my limited experience. I find I can have the same freehub body for years and years with either 2x or 3x setups. Since getting a 1x setup, I am getting through freehub bodies at a rate of one every 500km. Maybe I am just unlucky or my hub body itself is "out&...

Re: Advice please: First time tubeless

The sealant will only work from inside-out, so pouring sealant on the outside of the tyre wont help! You need to get the sealant you have inside the tyre, to be covering the hole (cant watch the vid as in work). Tip and shake the tyre so the sealant can get to the hole and it should seal if it is on...

I finally understand why...

I finally understand why folk come into the bike shop - with a bike that would be cheaper to replace, than fix all the problems - spend big money on cheap bikes. I occasionally work in my LBS and we have no end of folk dragging in bikes of various vintage that a basically, shagged. You try to tell t...

I have had a go on one at Maindy Velodrome* back in the 80's, on the banked concrete track. It certainly entertaining and a technique to master. My most abiding memory was respect to those who used to race these machines, back-in-the.day. Would I ride one in the UK now away from the track, on the ro...

WTD: Ortlieb Bike-Packing Accessory Pack

Anyone want to sell or have for sale - the small accessory pack that goes on the Ortlieb handlebar pack (pictured below)? Allways prefer to get second hand if I can, otherwise a trip to the LBS. Towel has been brilliant - the fluffy dice (now thankfully devoid of its "fragrance") hangs in my sons bedroom, I have 2 x thermal mugs, one in Norway (in front of me now) and another in the car at home, again brilliant bits of kit. All other items sadly lost or used to destruction. I must...

The only things to remember are: 1, Do not over fill the canister being refilled (always weigh and right the weight of the canister on the bottom when you buy it new - so you know what weight "full" is). Weigh the cylinder during filling (good squirt - stop - weigh - more gas - stop - weig...
