Re: With the onset of winter ...

Started the year on form and ticked off the Rovaniemi 150 and a couple of 200milers before injury struck. Month off the bike, back on for a few weeks then did the Capital Trail before blowing my knee. Queue 3 months off missing most of the summer. I've started gently back into things now and things ...

Re: Ever get bored of tracking miles?

I track and although it does bore me sometimes the long term feed back it gives me out weighs it.

My memory's also rubbish so it's nice to be able to look back on a ride and remind myself where I've been or a particular section that I'd forgotten how to get to!

In. I keep hearing about Indian summers, not sure what they are but I'm guessing it means sunshine in January.

Your all missing a trick here. Surely this is the best excuse to upgrade your shifters to something with internal routing!! Problem solved and just think of the beautiful crisp shifting!!!
Edit: tied in with the wildcat harness of course!

Re: 29+ tyre pressures

12psi front and 13 rear in my tubeless setup 27tpi knards. May well be different for the thinner 120tpi tyres but I find this spot on for my slender 95kg frame.

edit: I tend to find 11 up front feels lush and plush but tend to feel rim hits on occasion so 12 was the safer bet.

Re: What do you do of a dark evening ...

Mostly I'll ride until stupid late anyway, I like night riding so happy to set up camp in the dark at 00:00-01:00 then just gaze at stars until the sleep monster comes.. I've tried reading an ebook before but within minutes I find stuff flying around my face chasing the light from the phone so tend ...

Haha so after a fair bit of searching and shouts from up there /\ I thought Nano's it is. Then Ian chirped in to confirm what I was starting to think. None anywhere!
I've got a week to find something or the vision of a new bike without shoes will be too depressing to cope with!

Re: Decent F****** Cross Country Tyres

Running a 3" Knard on my 29+, set up tubeless and not had a single puncture in over 2000km. That said the 120tpi tyre I had on first was stupid thin and was destroyed after one ride. I replaced with the 60pti versions which felt about 10 x thicker. Initially I was gutted by the extra weight but...

Re: Winters coming, whats on your feet?

I got a pair of Wolvhammers half price from Charlie the Bikemonger. They will be my footwear of choice for the Puffer, but for most other things they are probably too warm. I wore mine from autumn through to spring last year. Warn and toasty without being to hot. Two season merino socks most of the...

Re: Nights drawing in - happy?

3 months off the bike during the "Summer" meant a fair bit of tinkering including changing all front hubs to dynamos. Quite looking forward to being totally self sufficient and pootling off into the solitude of night rides with no restrictions. Can't wait for the crisp cold winter to get t...

Re: full length top tube bag?

I use a small alpkit Fuelpod at the back attached to seatpost and a medium or large at the front. Works well, keeps the stand over height but gives you the extra storage space between your legs.

Revo female socket needed...

I remember reading on here a while ago about someone who sourced some female sockets the same as on a exposure revo that they used to wire up a USB charger to make a neat plug and play system. I'm after one of said sockets and wondered if any one knows where to source them or what they are specifica...

Managed to pick up a pair of Salsa Caron Firestarter's Slam69 had a pair of blue ones up for £200, decided to grab them and get my frame sprayed whilst I'm laid up for two months.
