Re: Bargain Alert Thread

Can't include a link for some reason, but Planet X are doing front and rear Sram Rival mechanical shifters (1x11, not hydro brakes) for £19.99 an end, so £39.98 plus postage. I bought some a while back and mine also came with cables. They weren't this cheap when I got them though! https://pl...

Re: Abandoned metal mines of mid-Wales on BBC

There was also a young couple on that series doing a 100 mile walk around the Lakes over a week taking in some of the crags along the way. Worth 30 mins of anyone’s time, But yes, the mining one was vaguely exciting :-bd Shame most of the other series are not available, wonder what I’ve missed out on

Perhaps theme your rides? One ride could be old churches, another could be towers or pubs with funny names etc Each year (well, the last two), I’ve bought a custom OS map of the area and tick of each square, good for those days I’m not sure where to ride or have a spare hour and don’t feel like ridi...

Must admit, I went to BeSpoked in Manchester the other month and came away being most impressed by Tailfin. The product looks great but the chap in the stand was simply the best sales person ever, took my though the whole range, explained it all and the reasoning behind it. Nothing was too much for ...

Some good points raised, I’ve been looking into cameras recently and this one gained my interest from the original thread, but thinking I may be better with something else Had a Canon DSLR about 12/14 years ago but when mini-voodoo came along, it was just too much to carry and use properly, so inves...

Sounds like “onism” to me (yeah, I’ve been trying to google some hipster travel words in Google and this one I thought fits well). Not keen on the use of hobo, sounds a bit 90s… [quote=jameso post_id=329304 time=1729182184 user_id=3307] This is brilliant Dave -...

Just tried on the iPhone for you

Click on download

Then go the address bar on your browser and click on downloads (via blue arrow)

Open up the file and tap on that

Mine took me straight to the OS app and uploaded the route there

Re: WTB rims and tyres! Is it just me, or are they a PITA?

WTB Rangers are the hardest tyres to break the bead I've ever dealt with, including various motorcycle tyres! You need thumbs of steel..... The rims haven't been an issue with other brands of tyres, it's just WTB tyres. These were the tyres I had to cut off! They’re also ridiculously heavy too, slo...

Re: WTB rims and tyres! Is it just me, or are they a PITA?

It’s not just you I struggled to even cut a WTB wire bead tyre off a WTB rim, it took far too much effort and force and tears and anger etc etc Was much easier to put Vittoria tyres on tubeless as a replacement (and it wasn’t the best either but they’re on now). Gravel bike also has the double combo...

+2 for Ortlieb…

Although they don’t fall into the affordable section (but good value as they last)

If you’re in France, I’d go to decathlon and see what they have there

Vinted back in Blighty always havs Ortlieb on sale (it’s a second hand clothing site), so maybe worth looking there in the future
