Re: The new Brompton G-line folding bike
I like it, look great. Was after two bomptons for next summer (well, was supposed to be this summer but money…!). They’d be great for our needs but at £2400 starting price, needing two is getting rather expensive :| Not sure about having discs on them, maybe more of workaround of the tyre width inst...

Re: Has bike packing (off the beaten track ) gone full circle?
And I don't understand those signing up for a race, paying £400 entry, and then claim they're touring. In my opinion they're either fools or are just trying to take pressure off themselves. I think they just enjoy riding with others and the occasion, pushing on a bit but not to the level of or the ...

Been aiming to read a book a month but generally been light reading of motorcycle racers biographies or IOM TT stuff. So far I've read, Michael Dunlop, John Mcguiness, Hutchy, Ragged edge, Jason Plato, Shane Byrne, Niall Mackenzie, Steve Hislop and Ron Haslam. Possibly Zen and the Art... or Mick Gr...

Re: Rigid to soft...tyre width Q
Tyres aren’t cheap at the moment, so I’d keep it simple and ride what you’ve got to see how you get on
My trek procaibler has a 2.4 Bontrager XR3 on the front with suspended fork and my rigid Titus has 2.6 Barzo. Some days I wish one bike had the other tyre on it and vice versa

Re: OS maps app on a phone
From OS maps, they say
“On your mobile device select the gpx file and select 'Open with', then select OS Maps”
https://osmaps.com/help?categoryId=routes&itemId=52
I can’t see an option on their app to click that says import, which seems a little daft to me

^^ So they’re keeping the trails open but closing the cafes, which seems a little odd as guessing the cafe would make the money to keep the trails open? I’ve noticed llandegla in the last year or so get a little bit quieter, but still seems busy with a lot of expensive bikes knocking around there. S...

Re: Navigation system for techno numpty recommendations
I haven’t tried it for actually navigating whilst riding but for road and possibly ‘broken roads’, the cycle.travel app could work (and it’s free, so worth trying) https://apps.apple.com/app/id1619632879 I use Komoot to plan a route, then send it to the garmin out to finally upload it to my Edge 530...
