Re: GPX for MBRUK Westcountry Way

Here is a link to Adan Harding's EWE route, which starts at Plymouth and begins with what is really a Devon C2C. I guess it is similar to the Westcountry Way...

As I am based in Torbay, I fancy having a go sometime this year.

This is what I have got... Fits the Dakota. Re: GPS content - does anyone make?

I have one for my Dakota 10, but didn't use it last weekend as I can't have my Exposure light clamp on the bars at the same time, so I used the standard Garmin one. All it is is a piece of 3/4mm thick rectangular aluminum with a steerer sized hole in it and a couple of screw holes that the GPS unit ...

What an experience! Hardest/best/worst ride I have ever had the pleasure of doing... Discovered that such efforts are about far more that just pedalling... You have to keep your head in a good place, you have to eat and drink regularly, you have to manage battery consumption in your bar light, helme...

Re: The BB 200 Thread

Booked for the night before at Dolgadfan farm campsite so I don't have to leave devon at some silly hour on Saturday morning. Can't wait! I am coming up from South Devon, but have got friends in Ludlow, so I am staying overnight on Friday with them. Not too bad a journey on Saturday morning then......

Re: Interesting Kickstarter Project

Have to say I agree... I think his "trailer" was on this weeks STW midweek mini movies. I enjoyed it until it got to the bit where he asks for money to complete the trip... At which point I turned it off thinking that he should have planned the endeavour better rather than expect others to...

Re: Genesis Fortitude Adventure experiences?

Yes I think it was the fully rigid steel bike with no possibility of running suspension that meant it did not sell large numbers... People aften ask me why I bought a bike with so fews gears, big wheels and no bouncy bits... I blooming love it, that's why... Have to say I did worry about the lack of...

No structured training. Just keep riding, adding more rides and miles as the BB gets closer. Hoping that will do the trick. I will be pleased to complete the route. Certainly won't be breaking any records...

Re: Slicks on a mountain bike?

I have a pair of Geax Roadsters in 1.5". They make a world of difference to the usual 2.2" Mountain Kings. Most notable point is when you have whizzed down the hill and then start to roll up the other side. You don't lose anything like as much speed as quickly as with knobblies... Far easi...

Hi Pizzytinzel, I am in Torquay and had cheeky night out on Bel Tor last week. Like you, it's all road up to the moors but great when you get there... Had a great time, though I suffered from the infamous Dartmoor fog. No chance of midgies... Didn't bother with stove, just took some cold snacks to k...
