Re: 2018 favourites

I can't disagree in general, but as a counter point - how about you're living in a dead-end town where few people seem to GAS about life. It's grim, school's pointless as you see so few opportunities and at 13 you think smoking weed with your mates is the only way to have fun. Maybe you have a bike...

This.

Lezyne plastic ones are ok too, although not quite as 90 degrees side entry.

I've not used that bag but have seen (and used) several of their other products - they are good :-bd I use a 300g fill quilt and a 350g (total weight) summer haglofs synthetic bag for freezing conditions. I'm a cold sleeper too and have used that set up down to -8 ish Having two separate items is mo...

Re: Peak District winter bivy. On the wrong date! Weekend be

Yep, I will be coming. Does anyone know if my car will be OK at Dore and Totley train station, info on the web says free but what about overnight parking ? Andy Security wise I'd say yes, there's nothing I saw on the signs (albeit a while ago) about no overnight parking. If uncertain then I'd say l...

Re: Peak District winter bivy. On the wrong date! Weekend be

Righto, I'll be at the cafe in Eccy Woods (google map link in this thread somewhere) before 11, in time for a coffee. The plan is to ride out and over Stanage then drop down to Bamford and the Anglers pub/cafe for about 1:30. Mark will aim to meet us there. Looking at the weather I'm thinking a fair...

Get a genuine Garmin one. I've never had an issues with mine and I think the problems with the units ejecting may be the quality of some of the 'copy' mounts.

I second this, having used an etrex for several year with zero ejections. still on a leash though!

Re: 29plus Tyres

I've run a chronicle up front before now but have no other plus tyre experience to compare. They are based on the Ikon tread pattern which I've used for the HT550 (in Exo varient) so they would be ideal in a dryish year. TBF there's so much estate track and road on the HT that a fast rolling tyre is...

Thanks for further responses which are confirming my thoughts over last few days. As Alpinum says the Cumulus 250 is to similar to my WM Summerlite to be worth the outlay, the 150 I could use in warmer conditions and double up with my WM bag early and late season. As psling says the PHD is flat and...

Still possible to get there by sea. Denmark via the Faroe isles, no direct ferries uk-Denmark anymore though.

Newcastle- Amsterdam then 1000km to northern Denmark before the three day ferry trip would make for a quite lengthy, and probably excellent trip :-bd
