WRT - Any undecided stragglers?

Post by Mart »

Hi Guys,
I've got a route with Paramart planned - If anyone's undecided on what to do they are welcome to join in with us. Rough plan at the moment is

Saturday : Head for the seaside for Fish, Chips (and a pint?) - 30 miles
Sunday: inland loop over some lumps. Depending on how are are going maybe some sight seeing along the way (30-40 miles)
Monday: back to base (15-25 miles depending on how much we cover on Sunday)

Flexible route and timings depending on weather, how we are feeling, what we find along the way etc
This wont be a heads down, grind out the miles - emphasis will be on smiling and enjoy - it the grinners that are the winners

Post up if your interested

that looks similar to the route I did at the 2013 wrt mart
there were some nice spots to stay for the night near pont-rhyd-y-groes

May well be interested in joining you pair. Would be good to catch up with Paramart again and good to meet you.
Have booked my self on a longer LHC route, but haven't done enough miles recently to feel comfortable about it. Yours looks spot on. The Great British seaside, fish & chips and the miles of smiles have swung it for me.
Hopefully see you on Friday/ Saturday.
Many thanks,
Adam.

I may join you too. Lost nearly all my LHC splinter group. Perhaps too ambitious of a route

If the LHC group is falling apart, this might make a good alternative for me also... :-)

Well I wouldn't go quite so far as falling apart ;-). Steady as she goes.

I think (think) there's two LHC's at the moment: LHC-B+ and LHC-C (historical reasons, no time to explain). I'm LHC-B+ and Mark is LHC-C.

Can't speak for Mark, but if there's only me in LHC-B+ in the end I don't give a monkeys because I'm happy being lonely - ahh bless.
However I think there's about 8/9 lovely people at the moment and we're doing two remote bivis with lots of variety (scenery, caffs, pub, prob seaside, some shops etc, trails/roads/tracks). Currently only 20 miles 1st day, 40-50 2nd day, 20 3rd day. Meet me (panda on my head) under Stu's LHC sign at the farm.

So there you go.

"So which one have I picked up with Simon72s gpx file"

Simon72's

I vaguely remember Si72 split off from me (hah! splitter!) a while ago, no doubt he'll be along soon with clarification(*). That does look like the slightly longer, self-supported one to me but I'm probably wrong as usual.

"Reg"

(*) unlikely - this is WRT! Confusion is part of the fun :-bd

A third LHC! This will teach me not to ignore the forum until a few days before the event...!

Are there gpx tracks for either your or Marks proposed routes? Just like to have a route* on me in case differences in pace, humour or dress sense lead me to be on my own... I'm fine riding on my own if needed, just like to have some idea of direction...

* yes, I could / should have planned my own route, but...life.

I'm currently with Simon AFAIK, so that's at least 2 and therefore counts as a group!

In case he doesn't see this in time, PM MarkW your email address and he'll send you the GPX.

Guys - Lets be clear - I'm not out to pinch anyone from anywhere - just offered an alternative for people who had not made up their mind
I think there are 2 official groups (who have posted up in good time)

- LHC
- LHC Splitters

My ideal is NOT to have a big group for this because it causes further logistical considerations (e.g. where big enough for everyone to eat, space big enough to bivi, etc)
I just wanna ride my bike without a care in the world and a smile on my face, Hope you do too

No worries. I'll happily send out my gpx to anyone who wants to /wants the option to join me. I intend to ride it unless im on my tod. Looking at the weather Sunday I'll probably cut out the loop of the lake down south.
