After leaving/loosing my PHD beanie hat in a bothie this spring I'm after another one.
But who makes them as the PHD was a special offer/edition one and they don't have them on their site now?
Down filled beanie hat?

Outdoor Research - not bad
Black Rock - expensive but top notch
Montane - more cap than beanie

Thank you

I have the OR one. It's very warm and packs up small. Seems to do the job well enough, don't really know what the more expensive one does better.

Re: Down filled beanie hat?
I have a PHD one somewhere, I've lost it in the house amongst all my kit
So I'd been using my Integral Designs (now RAB) primalid, a primaloft version of the down beanie. It's pretty good, not significantly heavier, and no worries about getting it wet, which makes sense seeing as I usually use a synthetic fill top. They're pretty cheap too

Black Rock gets my vote. I had a PHD one but it was a weird shape and fit was a bit off (probably my melon). Did make me look a bit cone-head
