I'm not going 'cos it isn't cold enough yet 8-)

Also, out of sheer curiosity, why has the venue moved to Llani?

Partly for a change and partly because I've a few good spots in mind ... here's the view from one, that ridge could/would be your way out in the morning ;)

Is that Bwlch y Dre dam in the background of the first pic? Looked at that ridge many a time when driving over towards your place.

Come on Ian, even I knew where the first pic was from.
The second pic would impress me though. ;)

so who is actually coming?

I should be there - possibly with 1 or 2 others - 1 who's never done anything like this before and the other who's done a few Polaris/KIMM etc

Yeah yeah, now you say it after I've given out the answer ;)

Not much to go on here. View from under some Sitka spruce close to waters edge (though not necessarily from within a forest) across narrow body of water, approx 150m, to agricultural land. Small inlet visible to right, containing trees. Variation in height of land opposite probably less than 50m. SN 890890, looking NNE?

That is actually surprisingly close ... even better when you consider the trees where the shot is taken don't appear on the map.

It would seem that Ians guess of SN 890890 for the location of the second picture is spot on
and do I win a prize?
No ... because no one else realised it was a contest ;)

Sadly not going to make it this time. Will be somewhere in the Welshness, but it'll be somewhere further north, where there's waterfalls for me to fall off. Have fun though!

So who's coming now? The two that were coming with me can't make it but I still plan on being there - my Rab Ladakh winter bag has to get used at least once a year or I think about selling it!

By my reckoning, there's you Steve, the flat one, 99percentchimp (I think) and me. I was out again last night in the wind and snow and found a nice sheltered overnight spot tucked out of the way ;)

Hi All,
I will have to duck out of this weekend - not back from work trip till later Friday night at best (and probably weather dependant too!). It's nothing to do with looking at the weather forecast, honest!
Have a good one, Mark

On the street opposite the petrol station (between the 2 roundabouts) will be as good as anywhere and free.

Anyone coming would be well advised to bring some spare clothes to change into on returning ... I've found a very long descent this afternoon and I can't decide if it's a river pretending to be a track or a track pretending to be a river ;) I thought the forecast for weekend looked quite good - considering.
