It's a shame we can't codify and create the right to wild camp on a "leave no trace", 200m from a road, travel under own steam, No fires etc basis, on access land, urban commons and other such suitable places for one night in each place

Law of trespass etc covers those outside this so no new penalties required but the National Parks can bring their own byelaws anyway and local councils could use the same powers they use for litter fines etc

It's something that you would have thought is politically simple to communicate and gives a positive of guidelines for the unwashed
