Small Dry Bags
It rained on Saturday, and all my kit that wasn't in a dry bag goat saturated. This was to be expected, so no dramas, but it's not nice putting on soaking wet arm warmers, etc, etc, etc. So I'm after some (very) small dry bags to fit into my Restrap (medium) frame bag and large feed bag. Can anyone recommend anything suitable...? Specifically anything smaller than 1 litre, which seems to be the smallest most come in.
There are theories at the bottom of my jargon.

Re: Small Dry Bags
The thin silnylon ones such as made by S2S might be a litre but they'll obviously roll up smaller - a litre will be their maximum size.

Re: Small Dry Bags
The smallest Outdoor Designs roll-top bags might do. I can't check at the moment but I think they are 120-150mm across. I've had one for phone, wallet etc for years, never let rain in.
Just checked, doesn't look like they sell them anymore.

Joe's Shop?

Like Stu says, they can always roll down smaller.

I have a XXS Exped, which is apparently 1 litre. It doesn't seem very big once you roll down the top. It usually holds my battery pack, headphones, a cable, a couple of AAs and a Petzl Zippka headtorch. I particularly like that it's in a bright lime green which makes it easy to find in the dark.

Thanks all! For some reason I just thought you'd be able to get a variety of really small sizes.

Re: Small Dry Bags
I use a selection of small carrier bags and sandwich bags for odds and sods like arm / leg warmers, spare socks, etc., just rolled up. Generally grab whatever I've got when I'm packing.
But yes, I never rely on the frame / saddle / bar bag alone in persistently wet weather; last week after our 'ride with Reg' I emptied about 1/4 inch of water out of the bottom of my frame bag after it had rained for 4 days solid!

We go out into the hills to lose ourselves, not to get lost. You are only lost if you need to be somewhere else and if you really need to be somewhere else then you're probably in the wrong place to begin with.

Re: Small Dry Bags
I suspect there's a critical size below which roll-top style drybags don't really work. The tiny ones (1 or 2 litre) Overboard used to throw in years ago with an order seemed to be all closure and not much storage. I think at that size people are usually thinking car keys or phones so dry pouches a la surfing, kayaking etc seem to be the thing to use, though not much use for you. Hence a good old plaggy bag as suggested
Re: Small Dry Bags
I had some stuff in placcy snack bags, but I'd rather something a bit less, well, plastic, and a bit longer lived. Lately, I also seem to struggle getting press seal sandwich bags open, especially when I'm cold and wet.

Aye Joe's shop or ziplocks etc. Having said that I ordered a couple of S2S xxs after last week's deluge, the xxs are hard to find.

Re: Small Dry Bags
+1 for a carrier bag. Unless you’re going to be doing river crossings your stuff should stay dry

I rarely have a carrier bag these days.
