Those drok USB lights.
I bought some based on stuart review.
They are just as tiny as he said. Although I never doubted his ability to measure stuff
I plugged on into a zendure battery pack 30hours ago and it's still got all four of its indicator lights on. I'm planning on leaving it on until something happens...
I'm have plans for most them but one spare if anyone would like one for cost price.

How many LEDs on the ones you have? Does it make for usable light?

Two little ones but they are great. Plan is to use the others is mainly as lights for the kids and us when away in the camper.AlasdairMc wrote:How many LEDs on the ones you have? Does it make for usable light?
Not sure I'd want to use them as a sole light for techy night riding but for a back ground, camping light they are more than bright enough.

Also, thinking about it. I'd find it good if you popped a new forum thread with a link in each time you write an new review or blog post. I alway enjoy reading them but tend to find them via the bike and bivi FB page.Bearbonesnorm wrote:If anyone's unsure what Ian's talking about:

Me too. About once a fortnight I'll suddenly wonder if there are any goat droppings of wisdom from deepest Mid-Wales and check the review section.ianfitz wrote:Also, thinking about it. Bear Bones has a fb page now Ian. Obviously, I also add them to the newsletter but that does mean some can be a few weeks old. Also, thinking about it. It may be that I'm seeing them on then. Point still stands. It's basically a complimentBearbonesnorm wrote:Bear Bones has a fb page now Ian. In every sense Greg as they produce no noticeable heat when on.quite cool

Even better!
Re: Those drok USB lights.
I just saw this recommended when I was looking at the lights: https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00KGT96WI
360 degree USB extension, which would mean you could pose the light in any direction you fancied easily. :)

The one I mentioned above is still on, has been all week. It's warm to touch but not hot.Bearbonesnorm wrote:In every sense Greg as they produce no noticeable heat when on.quite cool
Still all 4 indicator lights on the battery too. It's not using much juice!

Re: Those drok USB lights.
You might be waiting a long time Ian A typical LED might draw up to 20mA so if you've a single 18650 cell powerbank rated to 3200mAh then assuming 100% efficiency you'd get something in the order of 160 hours run time. LEDs may be rated to 20mA but that's short term, in the order of a few seconds, long term continuous use that LED is more likely set up to draw around 80% of that so 16mA which means that with the above cell you'd get 200 hours run time.ianfitz wrote:The one I mentioned above is still on, has been all week. I haven't seen any figures for the Drok lights but the above is a reasonable first stab.

I realise that. Was just curious to see if I could approximate a running time.whitestone wrote:You might be waiting a long time Ian A typical LED might draw up to 20mA so if you've a single 18650 cell powerbank rated to 3200mAh then assuming 100% efficiency you'd get something in the order of 160 hours run time. So far findings are that a few evenings worth of use won't really touch the charge in the USB battery.
Re: Those drok USB lights.
Ermm - a 18650 cell is 3.7V, USB voltage is nominally 5V. Watt!whitestone wrote: A typical LED might draw up to 20mA so if you've a single 18650 cell powerbank rated to 3200mAh then assuming 100% efficiency you'd get something in the order of 160 hours run time.
