Wasted weekend for me recuperating.
Been released this lunchtime from a stay in a French hospital after a rather nasty tumble on my snowboard.
Proper big bang to the head which has caused a minor bleed to the brain, cat scan on my bonce and X-rays on my shoulder.
Had to be refered to a doctor 110 miles away.
Fortunately wearing a helmet otherwise I'd have been "Schumacher'd".
Not allowed to get back on my board for the rest of the trip.

That's both massively unlucky and massively lucky at the same time! Heal up fast!

Having woken up with a sudden pain in my knee and then being unable to straighten it - having received good advice from Brighton A and E - 'just unbend it '-'it's probably a cartelidge problem' I will be spending the weekend making my right leg straight again !

A shame as I had planned to do some riding in the local area to start regaining cycle fitness this weekend !

Think that cycling to watch this sunset last night has something to do with it !

Drank the wine, so went for a walk on the Mynd yesterday. Today I did battle with the wind and rain and rode 45 miles, stopping to watch my son's team end their footballing season top of the league with a 5 -0 away win. Had to get out of the saddle to make progress on the flat such was the headwind, 20 miles of it

I'm driving a horse box on Sunday to a cross country event for my stepdaughter  ,

but I'm taking my bike and doing a quick 15 miles around Glen Eagles  .
15 turned into 18 and it was a perfect ride both timing wise and current state of fitness wise.

The stepdaughter did a clear round but rode too quick, in equestrian xc there is an optimum time to finish, she has realised she needs to enter a higher class to accommodate "Woodie's" speed.

Great day's shooting on Saturday, but unfortunately it looks like the focus screen on my new (well, 2nd hand) camera is out of alignment, so everything was out of focus. One roll wasted and now a to-and-fro with the seller to try and get either the problem sorted or the body replaced.

Yesterday worked out fine, even the weather relented for a couple of hours in the afternoon. However, the skirting board took a back seat today in favour of lambs with hypothermia

288 lengths of timber beading cut and rot proofed for some replacement windows, and the frames under coated. Interrupted by youngest getting carted off to A&E with a broken fibula (but he scored a try as he broke it!). Put a new motor in the hoover, did 140 wet km on the road bike, and repaired the chainstay on my hardtail with some carbon fibre (I'll see how tidy it is tomorrow).

Spent the weekend procrastinating over the packing for heading to Spain today. Turns out packing 2 bikes into bike bags and boxes takes longer than you'd expect when you've not done it before. Now waiting for the tea to brew and hoping I've packed everything. Sunny Nerja, here I come!

Nerja is great, if you like a drink there is a good atmospheric pub half way between the old town and the new development to the east on the Carabeo road. Can't remember what it's called but there are no other bars near it. They play a lot of live music and there is a right mix of clients.

I'm lying in bed in Montgenevre watching lots of snow fall. I'll be taking to the slopes after a leisurely breakfast. It's hell!
