Winter Bivvy Cymru 2014

Post by Bearbonesnorm »

Thank you to everyone who came along to the 5th Winter Bivvy, at 18 or so it was a proper turn out. I won't go on, hopefully everyone else can fill in the gaps with pics and tales. However, here's a few snaps to get the ball rolling.

Image

Bright and breezy Sat morning with Matt, Hux and Yetiman ... we had a bonus night out on Fri.

Image

Saturdays ride went up and down and up and down some more ... part way up one of numerous climbs.

Image

For those who don't know, the Winter bivvy aften includes a 'cook off'. There were 2 very serious contenders ... here's the Winter Bivvy special reserve Matt and Taylor brought.

Image

They had a menu too.

Image

Ian was also in the running ... here's his 3 courses produced on a single meths stove.

Image

Dressing for Dinner should be taken very seriously even if you're covered in crap and kipping in a barn.

Image

To be fair, the inside of our 'shelter' looked like something from a humanitarian disaster relief campaign ... here's Matt dishing out the After Eights to the needy.

Image

Ready for the off Sunday morning ... it's only 2 miles to the cafe :-bd
May the bridges you burn light your way

Cheers guys for a great weekend. Was good to finally ride with so many of you. The route was a good social affair with a belting United Nations refugee camp to house us for Saturday evening away from the rain.
A great weekend to bag my 12/12
Here's a few pics and a 'rough' video is to come

Top weekend, thanks for the riding, the company, and the dry barn. (And the cafe stops after every flat bit!)

Enjoyed the vid jeff, like the part where i rode off into the night. Didnt know ud filmed it. Had a great time all even though i had to leave early. Good job i did because they had shut the motorway and i had to divert. Got home very tired n very late but had a wicked time and good to put faces to the names. On other events its not always that easy to catch up with people. I had taken a few pics but to be fair there are already some great ones on here!! Till next time :-bd
