OR helium bivi

Has anyone got/used one of these? It looks like the perfect racing bivi (for me) and so far I can't see any real downsides?
Cheers

The key issue seems to be finding any available. Nobody seems to have any stock.

I don't know for sure having never tried one but I imagine that the 2.5 layer Pertex Sheild won't be quite as breathable as 3 layer eVent, although it will be a bit lighter. Having said that, if you read on-line reviews from the US it doesn't get slagged off.

I looked at these a little while ago. I never found them in stock anywhere.

I briefly tried a Terra Nova Discovery Lite, but it was too small and had no mossie net for when its not raining

In the quest to go ever lighter and try to ditch the tarp for single nighters I've ordered one of these.

That MSR one looks interesting, what do you think of it? I've found one of the OR bivis for a good price, so might have to take the plunge :geek:

Interesting - I've got one on order as I wanted something bigger than my existing Moonlite but still lightweight. How small is too small? It'll fit a mat and bag though, won't it?

Really small.

I slept in it with a klymit inertia x frame half mat and a phd minim bag and it was a little too small for me.
I'm 5ft 11in and fairly broad

Yeah they are pretty small ... even for a PORG. I stupidly slept (tried) with an Exped mat inside and all was not well.

So are you going to share where you are getting it from? Pretty please!

Who did you order it from?

Is it only available in yellow? I'd prefer a more wild camp friendly colour :-)

I think there's only one, so I'll share if I order one

I find it ok. 5'9", Klymit inertia x-lite mat inside and a summer PHD bag. It's main drawback is no midge net, but I survived Glen Golly in it on the HTR. Used it last month in Wales. Good option if you want extra security to keep you dry without a tarp.

Fair enough. Well done for finding even one.
