help me find my Garmin maps - please!
The maps on my 1030 (SD card) have disappeared. They don't show any longer at all, not even to enable/disable. Yet when I plug it into Basecamp they show as being on my card?
Any ideas?

Re: help me find my Garmin maps - please!
Can you copy them to a new sd card ( on you computer)? Possibly corrupted or sd card fault.
Also, can you see the .img file when your garmin is plugged into the computer? Should be F:/garmin/maps (or somewhere like that)
Is it all the maps or just 1 or 2?

Hi Steve, just the one map my TOPO 1-50 GB all the others are there. I've searched the Garmin SD card and it says they aren't there. When I plug the SD card into basecamp they show up (in Basecamp). I've tried selecting and sending the TOPO file to the SD card and it says that TOPO Great Britain doesn't contain any data?
Re: help me find my Garmin maps - please!
A maps is locked the that SD card
Prevents opening if copied to another SD
To verify.....
If the SD card is mounted to a computer the maps show correctly in Basecamp?
No GPS connected to the computer
With BC open and showing the map, remove the SD card.
Does the map disappear?
Switch off the Edge
(no the single short press to switch off, long press the power key and select power off)
Insert SD card
Switch on.
Maps showing?
Goto maps page
Is the OS map layer enabled?
Disable any other maps
Report back

Re: help me find my Garmin maps - please!
It is an unlocked copy of the OS 1-50 purchased through Amazon (I think?) so not a genuine card.

Re: help me find my Garmin maps - please!
Give the SD contacts a good clean (a soft cloth not sandpaper!!) in the 1030. Be gentle.....
Do you know anyone else with a Garmin? (with SD card slot, so not the new "Plus" ones). Try their Garmin and your SD card (and vice versa).
I assume it used to work and now doesn't (and the 1030 hasn't had any recent SW updates?)

Maps….
On the Home Screen there are three horizontal bar bottom right, tap this icon
Top is “activity profiles”
Select
Tap a profile
Scroll down to “navigation”
Select
Tap “map”
Tap “map information”
There may be various maps listed.
My Garmin OS topo pro card has regions listed.
A 1:50k may might be different.
Have a play with this screen.
====
As another idea.
Power cycle the device.
Connect to a computer via a USB cable
Open basecamp
Does backcamp load the maps from the edge?
If not, would seem the edge might be at fault.

At least they'd be well protected with a light to show their way home....
Re: help me find my Garmin maps - please!

Thanks for the offer Dave but I can't find my way there Seriously though I've got one last option and if that fails I'll be down. A breakfast is long over due!

If that means what I think it means then the assistance I was going to offer likely isn't required.Dave Barter wrote: ↑Fri Jul 08, 2022 6:03 pmGet thee over to Brixhamslarge wrote: ↑Fri Jul 08, 2022 4:16 pm Give the SD contacts a good clean (a soft cloth not sandpaper!!) in the 1030. Be gentle.....

If it’s an iOffer/‘ookie copy, I’ve heard that they can stop working after a software update..
