Spring is here

Post by voodoo_simon »

Hoorah, first ride today in 3/4s, windproof came off and rode with no gloves too :-bd Flowers are blooming too and just sat outside the cafe without shivering!

Feeling a bit more happy today because of it

Was a beautiful evening in the Trough of Bowland last night, but saw a gritter wagon out!

Bizarrely it's been spitting here this morning, didn't stop us getting out though. 80 km loop of the hills and down the Ebro, MrsPB just tucking into an obligatory omelette sandwich, I had sausage, both the size of your lower arm. I love lorry driver's caffs.

It sure is and, as I started work at 05:45, today, I didn't feel the slightest bit guilty about sloping off early for a sunny dog walk in the forest.
It was surprisingly dry, too.

It's wonderful isn't it? I had the morning off work, and today I really understood why "they do say" that a bike is basically a freedom machine, as I set off out in the sunshine for a couple of hours.... It felt so good, no coat, just a little gilet, arm and leg warmers, with the hope/ possibility of maybe feeling warm enough to take them off... and I did.... first hot dog legs of the year!
There were three decent climbs on my route that I always just about, or not quite, manage - and I managed all three, which I was pleased about.
When I was nearly home and had a bit of time spare, I even draped myself over a hay bale, sunbathed and stretched out while listening to the skylarks....sheer bliss!!!

First ride of the year in shorts for me as well. "Seen more meat on a sparrow" says the missus (harsh but true)
