What's everyone using for a bung on a carbon steerer?
I was going to get a hope head doctor but they can't be used on carbon

Re: Bung for a carbon steerer
I recently bought this ( it's my LBS anyway) and was impressed. It has a lip so it does not drop into steerer ( like hope ones do -though mine are decades old )
Fitted and works fine

I have something very similar, think it might have been from PX. Never seen the point in "wasting" bling-money on them as they're only needed briefly to preload the headset bearings and become redundant once the stem is done up (AFAIK).Lazarus wrote: ↑Tue Feb 15, 2022 5:37 pm I recently bought this ( it's my LBS anyway) and was impressed. Re: Bung for a carbon steerer
Can't say, for sure, but I seem to remember reading the the bung is required, in a carbon steerer, both for preload and to give internal support from crushing.Cheeky Monkey wrote: ↑Tue Feb 15, 2022 5:52 pmI have something very similar, think it might have been from PX.
