Global Fat Bike Day 2020
Is it still on this year?
No longer on any fat forums, but haven’t heard anything about it either.
Will still grace the fat bike on Saturday whether it’s on or not

Yes, it's on.
Probably just going to be everyone heading out for a ride on their own

Aye - Sunday 5th.
I might be out on the 6th as well/instead, although we'd always planned it would be on the Saturday.
There's a local Fatbike Group arranging a meet up at Glenlivet (Covid compliant, obviously).

Re: Global Fat Bike Day 2020
I usually do the 'North wales' one but it's going to be a solo one this year. Reasons being some can't leave there region etc.
Anyways I went to where I'm spending my GFBD weekend today to drop off some liquid refreshments. It'll be a great 24 miler there from the south (the Mrs is dropping me off near Festiniog) and then an 18 miler home.
Here's a couple of shots from today....

Would be rude not to dig the fatty out for a spin.
I see Roy has made some vaguely exciting looking stickers for this years COVID edition.

Re: Global Fat Bike Day 2020
Looking like I might have to go 29+ for this years ride
Need a few bits for the fatty. Have ordered but unlikely to have arrived before the weekend.
Still, 3" 29er tyres on 52mm rims make for a nice fat-esque riding experience.
Nice conditions here at the minute too!

Re: Global Fat Bike Day 2020
All being well I'll get my first ride in the snow on Sunday. I've lost track of what restrictions apply to my area but it doesn't matter as I'll be on my jack as usual for GFBD

Re: Global Fat Bike Day 2020
It snowed 15cm here on Monday and it's forecast to snow another 30 on Friday night, so could be an interesting Global Fat Bike Day ride on Saturday!

A morning around North Liverpool is probably enough for anyoneBearbonesnorm wrote: ↑Thu Dec 03, 2020 11:19 amIt's Global fat bike DAY ... not morning2 possibly 3 out on Saturday morning around North Liverpool
Just swapped the tyres on Cath's bike - she'd "studded" the Ednas when we were out in Norway because of the ice and they ain't easy things to remove so I put the original Nates back on. What a struggle! Even with an Airshot the first didn't want to inflate, I thought I was going to have to resort to putting an innertube in to get the tyre back into shape (they've been lying around in the greenhouse since I put the Ednas on, so have become a bit misshapen) eventually I resorted to a 26" innertube around the tyre to hold it in. Knowing that, the second was about forty minutes quicker to do

With the cafe stops it will run into the afternoon you can be sure of that, so don't worry your pretty little head over these detailsBearbonesnorm wrote: ↑Thu Dec 03, 2020 11:19 amIt's Global fat bike DAY ... not morning2 possibly 3 out on Saturday morning around North Liverpool
