Highland Trail 550 -2021
I just noticed that anyone with a deferred entry for the group start on 22nd May 2021 needs to email Alan by 21st November letting him know whether or not you want to take up your place.

I'll be keenly following your dot Steve.
Think I leaned a lot from your attitude in Tomintoul on the CL300. You just need to keep plodding when you're feeling a bit flat. I ended up faffing and losing a lot of time doing things like stopping to take photos, as my head wasn't in it until I met up with Ian.

Yep - I'm definitely a plodder ! Bob (Whitestone) really drove it home to me that the best approach (for us mortals) is to minimise the stops.
I am hoping to do it in under 5 days this time (6.5 days in 2019 as an ITT).

Re: Highland Trail 550 -2021
Sadly I'm out.
We should have a 5 month old child by then, and we also have a 2 year old who is currently being treated for leukaemia. Don't think it would be fair to leave the wife with those two for a week.

@newretrotom as excuses go, that's pretty strong (though I have a trailer that will hold two kids.....)
I taught a lad years ago who had to kick Leukaemia's arse. He's not far off breaking the 30 min barrier for running 10K now. All the best to your family.

Didn't realise that Tom. Hope things are ok.

Jeez, that's awful. I can't imagine what it must be like to have to watch your kid go through something like that. 2 is a bit young to be cheered up by postcards from afar, but if any of us can help in any other way then please do post something on here. People like to help and these are a good bunch of people.NewRetroTom wrote: ↑Thu Nov 12, 2020 1:28 pm Sadly I'm out.
