Re: WRT
just booked my train tickets - what a pain to reserve a bike!
Anyone fancy sending me a gpx of their route - I am never going to get time this week to try and plot something.
Thanks in advance.

Re: WRT
Train booked Birmingham to Barmouth but can get off at any of the earlier stops if that is nearer to a GR

Re: WRT
It's just struck me, JC, you're going to have to cart loads of extra luggage round with you this time to carry all your prizes back from Stu's .
Oh, there aren't any prizes this year of course, poor old JC .

Re: WRT
Llandinam, between Caersws and Llanidloes. Google satellite maps show a decent car park. The only thing that worries me about my route (apart from weather, distance, height gained, availability of pub food) is that I'm expecting to be at the Towers on Monday afternoon and most of the cake will have gone.

Re: WRT
You think you've got problems Lu, wouldn't be surprised to arrive at t'Towers Monday evening by which time both the cake AND Stu AND Dee will have gone, and one will be standing in the yard looking forlorn (and cakeless)!

Re: WRT
Has everyone got their plan sorted?
I wonder how many of will bump in to each other (at a social distance) when we are out and about?

Re: WRT
Nope. Probably going to post a thread tomorrow to beg for someone to follow around.
Right now I don't even have a working bike, let alone a route.

Re: WRT
the first casualty of 2020 WRT? I did try and squeeze in sufficient breakfasts and dinners for 4 days, plus the usual stuff - bivvy bag, tarp, ground sheet and the obligatory stuffed 650 myti mug and cosy.
Re: WRT
LMAO... off to a bad start again. Have lost my keys (again).
Cue an hour turning the house upside down to find them so I can actually get started prepping the bike.

Re: WRT
Got a rough route: Llangurig - Nant Rhys - Devil's Bridge - Nant-yr-Arian - Borth - Mach - Dolgellau - Dyfi Forest - BB Towers The Star - Hafren - Llangurig. Various extension/bail out options depending on mood, etc.
Going to be a somewhat more "loaded" ride as I'm taking the hammock, so hopefully we'll bivy up in some woods, but I've got a sleeping mat as well just in case we don't. An Alpkit Rig7 does seem inordinately extravagant just for one person That, the hammock and the underquilt add 1500g to my usual sleeping setup!

Fancy bike is out... even fully pulled to the bar the front brake does nothing. Plus rear hub seems to be dragging hard.
Old faithful it is, but there's work to be done there too.

Locked and loaded
90 chilled out fat bikes miles with Sammy and Mike,
Route - FFS hill, Dolgellau, Pont Scethin, Barmouth, loop East around Cadir Idris, Mach, BB Towers for a Monday cake breakfast, then back north to the cars.
3 grid refs as well this time.

I'm out. Car broken, plans gone to sub standard. Hopefully I can get my leadout man to pick up my t-shirt.
