How much do you spend on a chain, doing some changes to my Spearfish, and drivetrain is next on the list, a 10 speed chain ranges from £20 - £65, more if I want titanium, which I don't. I'm looking for a good quality and smooth shifting chain, as using Middleburn ceramic coated rings.
The DLC coating looks good, but is it worth that price?

Re: Chains
Yeah 10 speed chain, I recently put a Shimano Yumeya chain on my SS, it had been run in gears, the stretch going single speed was surprising.

Re: Chains
I'd suggest you buy from whatever manufacturer matches your rear cassette. Shimano and Sram use different up ramps and drop teeth designs, so using a shimano chain on a Sram cassette or vice versa might be a bit of a headache and lead to missed shifts. I've seen some good deals on Parker International.
Re: Chains
I get KMC x10sl - they are blingy gold and have drilled pins etc - normally about £24 posted on ebay from taiwan or somewhere, but delivered quickly and have never had an issue with them. They do x9sl's as well for the 9 speed people. Still look bling!
Re: Chains
I'm a big KMC fan, I keep going back to using them. Normally find a bulk buy deal on them too.
