Wanted - Adventure Bike

Hi Guys,

I've recently moved to Glasgow from New Zealand, and I'm keen to get amongst the bikepacking crowd.

I'm looking for a good quality second hand adventure bike to get me started, my budget is anything up to around £800.

Does anyone have any old rigs in Scotland that they're keen to get rid of? Any other advice on how to get started bikepacking would also be appreciated

When you say Adventure, do you mean 'drop bar, gravel' or mountain bike? Also, what kind of size?

I think my ideal bike would be a drop bar gravel / monster cross setup (think Surly ECR / Karate Monkey w. drops), however I'm very much of the school of thought that you can make most bikes work for you if you try hard enough.

Ideally I'd like something that has a comfortable riding position for off road touring, but still aggressive enough to handle technical single track.

I'm about 5 ft 8", so I'd think a small / medium frame would suit best
