Re: BB200 planning
I just Proofide'd the saddle to hopefully avoid the "hammock" from the forecast of 24 hours of rain. Second time in three days for the Proofide; fifth ride out of the last six in soggy conditions
I thought about putting something plastic on the bike, but I had a REALLY bad experience swapping to a saddle with a more conventional shape on a 300 a few weeks ago. Everybody's arse has different needs

Just got amber flood and wind warnings in Cardiff. Anything in mid Wales yet?

Where is the fun in 40km of dry dusty trails

Ooooh just looked at the route.
Golf links and a talking horse
And if you do it in reverse there's a choice of bothys at about the right distance

Sitting on the train on my way to Wales and have just realised my brand new unused MT500 waterproof shorts are sitting on the bed at home

Whereas when we do it forwards into the forecast headwind, the bothies will come at about the right timeMatt wrote:And if you do it in reverse there's a choice of bothys at about the right distance

Re: BB200 planning
I wonder how everyone feels this morning? I drove home after the 200 yesterday afternoon and tried to get out of the car at Telford services feeling as stiff as a board, must have looked odd walking like a 100year old man!
All this talk of easy makes me think back to school and those students who claim not to have revised before a test and then get 100%. Really annoying and I wonder if it's for their own benefit?
All I can say it was brutal at times and verged on impossible/dangerous (delete as necessary) I was wet through for 24hrs and 30minutes against a headwind for half that, a good few HAB sections with SPD's on slippery wet rock.
So no it was NOT easy.
Stopping at Nant Rhys and a young couple had the fire going and a box of shiraz was the low point for me, I questioned my sanity for hours afterwards, must have considered turning back about 4 times!
All I can say I am glad I took today off work.
I hope everyone got home safe in the end.

A bit(ha!) battered and bruised - quite literally as I took a couple of tumbles and my right knee is rather sore. I need to use both arms to push to get me out of a chair
I didn't dare look in either of the bothies as the temptation might have been too great

I wonder what was promised for the weekend at Nant Rhys? They'd only walked in on Friday from the bridge at the end of the broken road.
The young lady didn't appear overly impressed at the comings and goings of bedraggled cyclists. I was the 5th visitor and stayed an hour trying to dry out my Toro and have a coffee brew
