WTD: Fat bike tyres

Post by AlasdairMc »

Hi there,

I'm looking for some fat bike tyres please - what do you have?

I need one 26x4.0 something, preferably tubeless ready, tread for trail use
I am also after a pair of 26x4.7 / 4.8, again tubeless ready, hopefully Minions but interested in whatever else is out there.

Thanks

All my secondhand tyres are knackered so nothing in stock. However https://www.bike-discount.de/en/buy/sch ... set-531238 is a bargain and JJ's are a good all rounder. Minions cost a bomb new but are aledged to be really good.
So go on then what did you get??

Out of stock sadly. I’m looking for 4.7/4.8 or thereabouts, just because the frame I’m getting takes them and I loved the bigger tyres on my last fatbike.

I bought a second hand Kinetics steel frame which is based on Stooge geometry, 135mm offset rear so it’ll take a Rohloff if I decide to go down that route. XACD Truss fork up front. All I really need for it is tyres and cranks as I’ve got the rest spare.

Schwalbe have moved to this here 'addix' compound whatever the hell that means so there are a few bargains around on bog standard JJ's. If nowt second hand turns up worth a look as they are a goood all rounder, the lite skins are light and they survived the Highland trail so are reasonably durable....

Sounds like a good machine

Not interested in the Fast Traks, sorry. I don’t think the cranks will fit the B.B. I’ve got either but will get in touch if they’ll work.
