Any Genesis Tarn riders?
Just wondering if anyone rides a Genesis Tarn, the rigid Tarn 10 specifically? If so, what are your opinions?

Probably just dreaming, I don't think the wife would be very happy even at £800, reduced from £1200 at Edinburgh Bike Coop. Haven't dared bring the subject up yet .pushbikemike wrote:New bike Ray?

Looks nice. There’s something quite ‘Stooge’ about the seat mast, but with the benefit of a carbon fork.

As an owner of two Genesis bikes I'm biased in favour of them.

I've just bought a Tarn 20 2017 for £1100! Absolutely love it, but ditch the tyres asap. Very thin sidewalls.

I've got one recently. Rides pretty nice, but very long. I've changed the stem to a shorter 35mm one rather than the original 60mm version. Swapped a few other bits too, but overall very happy with it.
Changed tyres, and front easily fits a 3.25 Duro Crux

Has that ^ come with no bar-end plugs fitted? Always bothers me after seeing someone once 'core' themselves.
May the bridges you burn light your way

Nope, had closed end grips when I bought it. But swapped when I changed the bars. With the lock on clamps the surface area of the end of the grip is reasonable?

Slackman, how do you find the sizing? I'm 5'7" but have a very short inside leg so can't decide between small or medium.slackman99 wrote:I've got one recently. Rides pretty nice, but very long. Put some plugs in. As with Stu I've seen the unfortunate effect of someone pierce themselves with their bars.slackman99 wrote:Nope, had closed end grips when I bought it. But swapped when I changed the bars. With the lock on clamps the surface area of the end of the grip is reasonable?

Sizing is 'long and low'. Ett is massive for a large, hence the short stem, but plenty of room to stretch out on. I'm 5'11 and that's my saddle height on a large.
I imagine if you look the ett of even a small is likely to be as long or longer than a typical medium. I'd think the seattube height of medium or small would be fine, but you'd have to check how stretched out you want to be.
I am enjoying it though!
I'll get some bar plugs fitted :)
