To add to the made in china comments, china has far more expertise than we do. A friend of mine is head designer for a great outdoor gear company, they wanted to make stuff in the UK, they tried, and got terrible results from various factories, all of which couldn't follow a design spec if their life depended on it. They have now moved production overseas.

I do like their gear, it's expensive but it's nice. I have a buff, gilet and a jersey from them

I just bought another jersey and a couple of other bits from them in the current sale too

I got a pair of their shorts, and they are considerably better than anything I've had before. Definitely worth it. Seems silly to have their name on a swear filter really.

I always wanted to dislike them, as from the outside looking in the 'brand'/people who seem to gravitate towards it aren't my cup of tea, but my GF insisted they were the best shorts and bought me some. Luckily for me ( ) I found them almost the least comfortable shorts I'd worn to date (although the cut and feel were decent, so probably let down the pad). Also luckily for me I find the £20 Planet X shorts to be really comfy, so even in the sale nothing particularly appeals.

I do find it funny that no-one appears to be able to read though - the amount of "It'll be in Asda in no time!" comments I've seen today suggest that no-one can read 'grandchildren of'....

Making membership as difficult as the literary equivalent of getting to the 5am opening of high-street chain store January sale simply makes it...

The only problem I can see with the club is rule 16:

Pay £135, but then not drink one's Cabernet Sauvignon? This should be on WTF Wednesday!

Here's todays 'genuine' and 'no offence meant' question from yours truly ... are there any R@pha shops in Yorkshire?

The amount of riders, Road and MTB, through Hebden dressed in Rápha kit would disprove this. Many being people I ride with on dirty bikes. Quite a popular brand round our way. Also used a lot in their marketing over the years for good reason.

ye i would agree with this, as a Product Designer, we find this regularly. the chinees are better at everything from casting aluminium through to making bags. though we do make most of our textile products in house for safety critical things.
