Obscure tyre help

Post by Ben98 »

I've just received a new 2.4 Ardent for my Surly, and while it says 2.4 on the side, it seems much smaller than my previous ones and measures only 2.35" on 35mm Halo vapour rims.
So my question is, would anyone with the same tyre on a similar rim be able to measure the sidewall to sidewall size of it and post it here? And also is it possible that I've got a mislabeled tyre?
Many thanks
Ben

myn seem around 2.4 on a 28mm rim ... but i might not be mesuring them as accurately as you as i left my verniers at work. they are great tires anyway so just see how well they work and if they work well dont sweat it ... ?

You can check my old 2.4s on a 35mm (30 internal) P35 on Friday, I put them back on for the weekend.

Just so I'm clear, you're querying your tyres being 1.3mm too narrow?

I'll be sure to sneak a pea under your mattress and await the results.

It's more that they seem far smaller than my previous set (which got stolen so I can't compare the 2), I was more quoting the measured size for comparison purposes. :-bd

Very disappointed when I opened this thread ... 'Obscure tyre help' lead me to believe it was about fatigue or general weariness. WTF are we doing talking about TYRES.

If I remember I'll check my Ardent when I get home, it's mounted to a Flow EX rim
