Ergons on Jones Loops?
Looking for illustrations and recommendations. I have Ergons with mini 'bar ends' on another bike with normal bars but not tried then on the Jones bars - what you got?

Re: Ergons on Jones Loops?
+1 - one thing that does annoy me a bit tho - on really steep descents bumps make your hands slip forwards of the wide bit - its because the loop bars are so swept back. For info I tried the ergon grips that flare out at the front as well as back designed for swept bars and they were even worse for this.
Re: Ergons on Jones Loops?
Me too. Both bikes.
Agree with htrider but worth it for the comfort. I've never had hand issues with this setup. Never.
Would be a waste with the bar end version though. Pointing in the wrong direction.

Re: Ergons on Jones Loops?
I moved from Ergons to ESIs as I didn't take to the Ergons on my Jones bars, they didn't really work.
I couldn't get the angle right and I found that my hands would slip off the front over bumps.

Re: Ergons on Jones Loops?
I had GP3s previously. Took them off for GP1s so I could fit pogies
The bar ends worked well, but aren't great in tight singletrack as they're very hook like so grab branches and brambles very easily!

On joneses? Don't they stick out at an odd angle?benp1 wrote:I had GP3s previously. Took them off for GP1s so I could fit pogies

I used some on some 5 degree sweep bars. They were good on there...
Re: Ergons on Jones Loops?
Yep, very odd!
They still worked pretty well though, gave me another hand position. And looked very niche!
They would work better on wider bars (i.e. 710 over 660) as you lose a bit of the width for holding the grips normally as the bar end is there
The only downsides we're looking weird and catching on down narrow tracks. And pogies don't work well with them
