An 8mm hex on 1/4" drive - my bargain ratchet tool is complete.

£6.30 for a mini ratchet from Radial Cycles, then £1.50 for that bit as it's the only one not supplied in that set that I would use

As I was off on a flexi I was actually in when the postie came round: he brought me my Force Ten Helium 2 and GasTank from Backcountry.

Coincidentally I got a text from HMV to tell the new Gillian Welch Boots cd was now in :-bd

Couple of pet ID tags for my dogs' new collars, not really biking related

Couple of jerseys in the sales, but I found them a bit meh and no better than what I have so they'll be going back

A Borah Cuben bivy bag courtesy of Ian Fitz.

At the other end of the scale (literally) a copy of "Nowt but a Fleein' Thing" https://www.amazon.co.uk/Nowt-but-Fleei ... 0850280591 which is a history of climbing on Scafell written by my old mate Al Phizacklea.

New Shimano SLX disc brakes from CRC and an Exposure Race from Evans, both were bargains.
Also not pictured new to me Apidura saddle bag and handlebar bag, which I bought as a bulk purchase with a load of other parts on eBay.

We went out for a bivy last night and been riding today so was going to check it out on the lawn this afternoon but got back too late. Might have to do the living room floor test

Some birthday goodies from alpkit came today

A size small balance jacket, which actually is small in size unlike most, very pleased so far.

A muon head torch, most impressed for the price, bit dim for biking but should work well for running and general use.
(plus a second one for my partner)

These plus a swanky pair of Solomon speedcross 3 trail shoes for speed hiking I picked up last week round out to a rather happy (newly) 21 year old

Well....about as exciting as it gets for a 21st for a non drinker/smoker/clubbing/whatever anyway

300g of fluffy goodness in the shape of a Mountain Equipment Arete down jacket. Nice and compact so will likely become my camp/bivi warm option in place of a Montane Prism.

1/2 price MTN Equipment sleeping bag - 600 fill. First new bag since a MTN Equipment 2 season from an Outside marquee sale in 1998? (not counting the sloppy seconds PHD jobbie I got from Zippy - that sounds dirty....)
Notice of Council Tax increase........... - x( somebody voted for the buggers...
That Al P book sounds interesting Whitestone. You may know - in Hard Rock, it talks about someone dying on East Buttress, giving rise to Black Sunday on Esk - who died?
