Re: Warned of personal liability at a cafe ???
Also, I'd love to see them prove in a legal setting that they told you this and you confirmed that you'd both understood and accepted this, and therefore they had passed on the liability
Hint: there is absolutely NO way they could.

On my 30x, which I presume has the same menus, it’s the same. I tend to use the track manager option to load routes. So I’ve moved it up to the top few rows on the menu. I did that because it also has the track save options in it too. Meaning I also use that, although I’ve set it up to auto-archive...

Re: Mountain Warehouse down sleeping bags and bivi bags
There's far better ways to spend £80 on a bag: https://rockrun.com/collections/mountain-hardwear-sleeping-bag-deals/products/mountain-hardwear-hyperlamina-spark-32 I picked one of these up for daughter to use. Used it last week, very impressive. Really well made, soft, comfy. Warm enough at 2c and ...

Something like this at 4+ euro would be ok. https://www.extremtextil.de/en/nylon-tafetta-downproof-55g-sqm-special-price.html Guess it will be soft/silky(ish) like most sleeping bags. Ive has fabrics from them before, decent company There’s a few lighter and pricier fabrics too in the uncoated secti...

If you want a really good axe get a gransfors bruks - they are pricy but they are hand made by a Norwegian dude who signs your axe. They are top quality, can hold a razor sharp edge and will last for ever (with occasional replacement of the head and the haft of course  ) There forest axe w...

DIY from the same fabric I make my quilts. 7d Ripstop Nylon. 60 g. Main reason I use it is to keep my quilts/bags 'clean'. That's interesting, do you have any more info? I had a search in the MYOG forum and couldn't find anything. It sounds sweaty to me! Is it? I’m assuming it will be similar 7d fa...

Re: The price of tools.
Very few seem to be properly sharpened purchase either.
I recently bought an ace this size as a gift. Went for a small silver line from toolstation for a tenner.
A few passes on the bench grinder then whetstone and it’s kitchen knife sharp now!

Re: Coed Y Brenin Routes Via Bothy?
For those in the know, it's the section of lovely remote rocky track that ultimately veers off through some trees (some might have being lay across the track), then spits you out onto some tussocky hillside pretending to be a bridleway. After meandering through that maze you finally found yourself ...

Re: SPOT Tracker Renewal Fees - Being Gouged?
Why do you all have to bother with this crap ? I bet the RSF didn’t use spots (mind you they probably were always in groups)... Along with spirit of adventure you need ‘wherewithal’ and ‘mountaincraft’, and knowing your limits and knowing that accidents can and do happen, and if you’re always tuned...

I didn’t make it but....
A nifty 3D printed gizmo to securely attach an Etrex to an Edge mount. Still using a leash though!

Ridiculous question time. Would a quilt such as the fab one, be capable of boosting a 2-3 season bag, up to 3-4 season spec ? Quite possibly. I've a PHD Minim 200 which is rated to 5C. With the Cumulus 150 (also rated to 5C) as a wrapper I'm fine down to -5/-6C which is good enough for most UK cond...

Fit and quality is good. I’ve worn mine a fair bit.
One minor thing; I’d rather a smaller print as it can get very slightly clammy under there. Obviously no different to any other T-shirt with a solid block print on but maybe better for wearing during excercise...
