rollers seem like they might lead to further injury as well as breakages to household items when riding in to them in an uncontrolled manner trying to break but failing with 2 broken fingers ...Time to get the rollers out of the loft and fit some slicks to the Stoater...

Ye bag survived stays really solid , had it like that on th really rough decent in th dales a few weeks back and was ok then too! Lots of straps is th key !

also just have a couple of those massively bright cree led things ! good n bright have a couple of batteries and they run for like 5 hours on low , but you can stil see where you are going . helmet mounted aswell so you can see where you are going !

there was only one or 2 bits that i was happy that i was on my mtb not my cx bike tbh far more of the time i wanted my cx bike ! the bit down off the Forrest to hepple whitefeild was good on a mountain bike an some of the moorland above wooler was butif you stick to the main trail it was all erry cx...

Your route through th dales looks ok some tussoky stuff after ingleton if it goes where I think it does and some slightly crappy bridle way after sedbergh up through caughtly but it might have been improved since I lived in sedbergh but looks pretty good

if i know the route is going to be hilly i just put a 20t on the back instead of the usual 18t gear . slower on the road but gets you up a few more degrees of incline haha and easier on the knees on the long bikepaking rides

did a version of the sand stone way at weekend (very hilly with to many gates and to much mud but kinda fun) 115 miles 27.5 hours generally . felt ok after , litle bit of bum pain and got thunder stormed all night haha but ye felt fit enough :)
