i do think i agree with the article that electric bikes are not the same as bikes and thus should be treated more like motor bikes. there are plenty of byways up here so ye seems sencible as they are not human powerd .... or maby you should have to charge the battery with your turbo trainer hooked u...

ye slugs, have a net on my bivi bag now,
when riding away from a bivi at4 am on the sand stone way i got hit in the head and removed from my bike by a startled grouse there were loads just flying up out of the under growth

tend to just ride till im too tired to keep riding after dark anyway as quite like night riding. then normally brew up/ eate ( if i haven't already stoped somewere) sleep as much as i can ( not a verry heavy sleeper when biving ... then get up normally still dark and keep going ... im no good at com...

generally ware mt specialzed tactic 2 mountain bike helmet. i do have a road lid , but e prefer my mtb helmet bit more protection when it gets rough , and even bike packing it gets rough, and you can still go pretty fast down the rough stuff if you havent packed heavy so ye modern style mountain bik...

was gona go for somewher in between , aka bring a bivi bag and super light sleeping bag, , and if the weather looks bad some brew kit, so i can grab a couple of hours down time. thats my usual 120 ish mile kit worked for WHW and sand stone way this year. probably will go lighter than have previously...

did a tiny 2 day ride years ago just rented bikes , but there is epic gravel tracks and a really good hut system in norway. think we took the flam mountain railway up and biked from the top station

i like my maxis ardent 2.25 on the front on my riged forks pretty comfy, run it tubeless too a then can be slightly lower pressure, they do a 2.4 ardent that could be interesting , its an vaguely exciting tyre handles mud and gravel really well.

anouther few long ish rides/ frequent evning rides to keep the miles up in the next week and a half ! then taper daown keeping the strength up on intervals and hills but cutting the miles

Not only one bike, but what would be your one and only entire setup to be the master of nothing :lol: Fine then my dh bike canyon torque , with a we scream mud tyre on the front and a hook worm hard pack tyre on the back ... so it just goes sideways in the mud would be fun for a few hours every yea...

my XC bike is ridgid 29er with carbon forks , and i use that on really rough stuff sometimes . the 29 wheels take allot of the harshness out of the ride, and the ridgid for is more efficient especially as im on a sngle speed for xc so any up hill efficiency is important. all so its just more fun , i...
