**SOLD***SRAM Rival 1x11 STI's (new)

Taken off a bike before being used, so no box, but never ridden.

SRAM Rival 1 x 11 shifters, in that the LH one is brake lever only, RH is 11 speed shifter. Intended to use on my Salsa Fargo, but decided to stick with Shimano.

RRP is £200, £80 posted fair?

Norfolk Fat Bike meet. 19/02/17 Wells next the Sea

Bit of a niche long shot this one, but what started as a few comments on UK Fat Bike FB page, has turned into a fat bike meet on Sunday 19th February from 10am at Wells next the Sea. For those interested there will be an overnight bivvy out on the saturday night, including pub visit and no doubt fis...

Ar*e, really wanted to do this for the first time, but have already paid my monies and accommodation for Charlie the Bikemongers Gravel Dash which clashes. It's always the good events that clash

Re: Hello

I'm in North Norfolk, so not a million miles away having also relocated from a slightly more lumpy area!

We have a few hills here, but most of my riding is round coast, thankfully it makes up for lack of elevation with some great beaches.

Re: Gravel dash advice please

Did the 100 last year, but doing the 50/50 this year as i fancy the bivi overnight and a more relaxed weekend, you'll be fine on CX bike or an MTB, i rode my Fargo, there was even a few on fat bikes, but they did suffer i think. Definitely more than "just" a gravel event, some great scener...

WTD - Decent Sleeping mat

Previously had a Exped Synmat UL 7 which i liked, but after a weeks trip inflating it by mouth (not knowing you had to use pump) the seperate ribs delaminated, then purchased a new Alpkit Cloudbase, but couldn't get on with it as i found it too thin. Any one got another Exped mat or a decent Thermar...

Re: What's the attraction of bivvy bags

How did you avoid dampness from condensation inside the bivi bag? I have yet to find a 'breathable' fabric that does not 'wet-out' in heavy rain, after which their is no vapour transfer. I get paranoid about my down bag, so usually stick up a tarp (which is as much faff as a good tent) unless I am ...

Does it have to be 170mm or would you like left and right 175mm?

Re: Bivvy a Month 2017.

First for me of the year in the MTB mecca that is North Norfolk. Not the best of photos as there was a real "pea-souper" of a fog and couldn't see more than 20 yds during the night. https://c1.staticflickr.com/1/371/32382521405_6b3d45d335_z.jpg 1 by Scud75 , on Flickr[/img] https://...

Re: Rant - Leave no Trace

Round near me (north Norfolk coast) there does seem to be a lot of "Wild Camping" and "Microadventures" groups popping up mostly on FB, these seem to compromise of two types of people. - People who have watched far too much Ray Mears (not really a bad thing) and too much Bear Gry...

Great, thanks for that Ian.

Hate how you have you have to bodge it together, but still don't want to switch to SRAM despite hearing good things recently

Re: Fargo set up assistance - Tiagra hydro

Thanks for that Ian. My reasoning was i really like the Shimano hydro brakes on road bike and have had enough of BB7's. I already have the callipers so the Tiagra seemed to fit the bill. Evans have both sides for £260, i then get a further 10% off via work, so didn't seem too bad in price https://ww...

Fargo set up assistance - Tiagra hydro

Tried posting this on STW forum and didn't get very far... Being a Fargo and having that old problem of trying to bodge together road ...

@scotroutes, i actually managed to snap mine leaning it against a tree!

Would prefer metal as i figure i can bend it to retain bottle a bit better, so will hunt out the Bontrager ones

May be of use to some..

On my search for decent side loading bottle cage as per other post, found this bottle cage for a bargain price designed to take a 1.5 litre shop bought bottles of water.

Ideal to increase water carrying capacity

Recommend a side loading bottle cage?

I have a Revelate Tangle frame bag which leaves space in the triangle for two bottles still, but if using 750ml bottles and the frame bag is well loaded it can be hard getting the bottles out, i have been using a couple of Specialized plastic side loading cages, but they are not the strongest and i ...

8542 miles, no idea in km! But not a lot of elevation now living in Norfolk. But 90% of that is commuting 36-54 miles a day, so it's nearly all been done on road. 2017 means i have gone back to a car for a lot of my commuting, after a year of doing it by bike so that my miles and rides can be qualit...
