Re: Lightweight sleeping mats

I've had the multimat adventure superlite self inflating mat and found it OK - I tended to roll off it a lot although I attributed this to the design of SIMs rather than something particular to this mat. It developed a leaky valve after a couple uses and was sent back to multimat who exchanged it fo...

My vango helium can be pitched outer only - I think it only ways about 800gms without the inner.

You can also put them in the seat tube (as long as you don't want to drop the seat).

Re: PSA: Alpkit Airlock taper now in stock

Received mine the other day. I'd been using a standard airlok extra without any real issues - this just looks so much better/neater though. Like the standard Airlok, the secret to getting it really stable seems to be to pack it as tight/full as you can and then strap it really tight through the sadd...

Re: Exped Synmat UL7 or Neoair X-Lite

Exped synmat 7 - I think the larger diameter tube's on the outside really help in not rolling off it. this is great fo me as I tend to shuffle about a fair bit when sleeping. Its also really comfy and im a big fan of the flat valves (had two multimats fail on extruding valves before). I haven't used...

I suppose mainly because it contains no insulation, so only has an R value of .7 ... I wouldn't fancy it outside of spring / summer

Re: Right, I've had it with this stupid piece of...

Ive used the exped synmat ul 7, multimat adventure superlite air and the multimat adventure 38 self inflating mat. Adventure air - weighs next to nothing - 300 gms? Packs really small too probably around 500ml. I found it reasonably comfy if a little narrow, it doesn't have any internal insulation s...

I've been using a vango helium for the last 3 years and condensation has never entered the inner tent - are you pitching it so the inner and fly aren't touching?

Re: Instaflator

I made my own schnozzle bag using a pedal bin liner and a washing machine pipe connector. It only weighs a few grams and blows up my exped synmat in 3 refills. If it's been raining, I pack my wet tent in it to stop it from soaking other items in my seat pack.

Out of curiosity, what would the combined weight be for a cheapish tarp + bivi bag + poles/pegs setup ?

I don't get the big issue with mudguards - its not like you can even see them when your riding your bike! Or are people more concerned about how other people view them? Weird.

Each to there own, I've only slept without a pad once (when it leaked)and the ground sucked all the heat from my body which resulted in a terrible nights sleep for me.

Can't get my head around why you wouldn't take a sleeping pad - 300g doesn't seem like much of a penalty for a decent nights sleep.
