I'm quite partial to Tyrell's 'Naked' crisps.
[/quote]

Ooo the ‘slightly salted’ ones? Lovely. Sadly I’ve banned myself from them due to my recent health revelation. In fact I’ve gone fully veggie ( apart from fish) to be honest it’s to allow wiggle room for beer :-bd I’m not sure if it works that way but I’ll take 122/83 bacon or beer, easy choice

Elaboration: Bought nice beers (Cloudwater x Burum's bitter a particular highlight), sat in some friends' garden, talked about how we're really feeling, got burritos, rode my bike with flat pedals.

Nah. Those are different. These are no salt, no nuffin'. Stark bollock naked. Photo of naked ladies on the front just in case you hadn't got the message. You'd be fine with your new regime - some fat of course but tiny amount of saturated. Don't see them everywhere though.

PS: Mrs L made a birthday cake for a friend today, which resulted in a surplus of icing. This (obviously) necessitated ANOTHER CAKE being baked. So now I'm full of cake too.

Anybody else get that thing where you open some crisps, and have to consume the whole bag in one go no matter what size bag it is? No restraint me.
As the "Obi Wan Kenobi" of bikepacking, I've come to expect higher levels of moral fibre of you, Reg. I must say I am somewhat disappointed to discover something as simple as Marmite crisps appear to be your Kryptonite :| .

Surely a gentleman of your cultured disposition is able to savour one's daily crisp on it's own merits, then look forward to savouring the next crisp on the morrow? :ugeek: .

Personally I suffer such a weakness for flapjack I have to ensure it never crosses the threshold [-X .
Although somehow a box of champagne truffles managed to sneak their way into the cupboard last week and appear to have half-eaten themselves :d .

Otherwise: yes; a very C.F.
Wakeboarding today, with another session on Sunday before or after a possible Regbimble. A welcome visceral, elemental contrast to 8 hours per day of MS Teams for 12 months on the trot (merely a 1st-world problem, as I really do appreciate having a job) :-bd.

Old Bent One Kenobi would be more appropriate I think  . One crisp per sitting might be a challenge and take black belt 10th dan levels of self-control.

And yes, Led, , trussed you to come up with an image like that.

That's just weird - Marmite is the devil's diarrhea and should be locked away in a deep secure repository such as used for nuclear waste.

Food packages have two states: unopened and full; opened and empty. You never get opened and half-full.

Reminds me of a friend. He'd been reading a survey in his wife's Cosmopolitan magazine. The question was: "Can you eat a whole Mars Bar?" His response was "Yeah!? I can eat a whole packet of chocolate Hob-Nobs!"

Front page of The Grauniad today states "Easter extras - What to do with your leftover chocolate" :-O .
Surely there's no such thing?

Absolutely baffling concept. No idea what they're on about.

Marmite, Bob, is a bikepacking food - multi-use y'see. For example you can also seal flat roofs with it. Or use as emergency tyre sealant.

I'm suddenly idly reflecting how incredibly lucky us lot were to be allowed to carry on riding our bikes over the past year throughout all the mayhem. At various times pretty much everything else was verboten. Kept me sane (shut up at the back). Even crappy garden-only bivvies added a little more 'freedom', and as Pete said even enforced new ideas and something different.

So, am grateful for that.

Anyway, enroute to work today and came through Fridayhorpe... Sadly we only have Painthrope near us and it got me thinking. Maybe this is where the folks from Painthorpe come to retire

Reminds me of seeing signs for Painscastle on the BB200. The climb I was on at the time seemed very apt.

^ Where is The Crigglestone, Mr Shaf? May one buy a postcard, or a replica of said stone? Are there rituals with druids every solstice? I think there should be...anyone for the first annual Crigglestone Summer Solstice Festival?
"Crigglefest" :-bd .

And as for Kettlethorpe: that's just begging for a BBBTB (BBBTeaBivi) on 21 April :-bd .

Good, about time people stopped being cheery on days other than Friday. Honestly is just frivolous and has to stop. Perhaps listening to these songs before posting might help
