Judging by his username, I doubt your sleeping bags will be of much use! ;)

hi chaps. I'm trying to tie this in with a lap of the Nant yr Arian trail. Any idea on expectation of how late we'll be riding on the Sunday?

Which one are you wanting to ride? There's a very good chance we'll pick up bits of some of the trails ... I'd estimate a return around lunch time.

Is it the "Summit" trail..? I think that's the one I rode a while back & enjoyed. Sounds like I'll have time to ride it in the afternoon then, cheers.

Don't worry about trees for me, I'll slum it with the ground dwellers for the night. ;)

Yep Nant around noon. I've a few spots in mind but I'll be having another little look beforehand ;)

The Sunday is looking a bit awkward at the moment - trying to sort out transport for getting the kids to 4 different places during the day!
How far is the bivvy site likely to be from the visitor centre? - I may have to bail out first thing and head straight back - I'd certainly rather do that than not make it at all.

I'd estimate a direct route could get you back in an hour.

For the moment it's the Trail Centre at noon. I'll pop into the Red kite this week and check that it's okay to leave cars there overnight ... I'm sure we'll be putting some custom their way ;)

Snow I can cope with, but if it's pissing down, I'll have to pass...

Okay ... It looks like the Red Kite Cafe may be shut for winter. I called yesterday but there was no sign of life and I've phoned today and had the same result.

Anyway here's what I'm thinking:

Meet up noon(ish) at Nant trail centre - We should have plenty of time for a brew/cake/faffage.

Ride something like 20k, there's options to lengthen/shorten which may depend on how much of this ^ we do.

Spend the night somewhere special*.

Ride back to the trail centre for toast and tea. Again something like 20k with options.

Don't expect to keep your feet dry, do expect some mud in places (unless we get a good freeze). Do expect a level of pushing and comedy moments ;)

*I think it's special ... other opinions are available.
